Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a fifth generation Californian and San Josean. On my mother's side I am the descendant of Mexican and Chilean miners who came to work in the New Almaden quicksilver mine outside of San Jose, CA. I do extensive research tracing the families of the early New Almaden miners.

Through my paternal Grandmother, I am a descendant of Anthony Gholson, who came to America with his brother from Wales in 1680. My branch of the Gholsons were early settlers of Texas.

RE: Alvin O Berryessa
Veronica: There was nothing in the old newspapers on the death of Alvino Berryessa in 1910 and the Archives did not have family file on that family, indicating no one ever asked them to do any research on the family since they make a family file for every family name that has already had research done.
So there is no source of more information on them that is easily found

RE: Alvin O Berryessa
You could be correct that his name is actually Alvino and the person who entered it thought it was Alvin O. There is no mention of a newspaper obit that might help so I will look at the county archives next week and see if there might be something in the papers.
Louis Berryessa born in 1887 and died in 1917, a suicide, appears to perhaps be his brother. Ada Berryessa Boxall was probably a sister.
I will see what there is to find and get back to you.

Inclined to agree with you ..... I looked up his obituary and think he was moved!! He definitely is not on the Holy Cross index......

Wow, this is a surprise! Interesting you found this obituary..... I do not know anything about it. I live in California but have been at my daughter's home, visiting family in North Carolina, so I do not have access to any of my records. This will be interesting to look into!!! I can't imagine they would move him to another cemetery, but maybe they did!

RE: Robert Larios
Sure! I was planning to do that - I usually do it while I am uploading for whatever person I did a photo request of, but I did 43 photo requests on Friday and wanted to fulfill the actual requests first and then go back and upload the the other people that were buried in the same plot. Working on that right now, actually. =)

Sooooo glad you could connect Juanita, that's awesome! I love it when stuff like that comes up randomly and you're like, who's that? OMG it's a daughter! LOL

One of these days, a cemetery visit is a must!

Charles Cavalli
Thank you for the work you have done with the Cavalli family and for your sharing it with an online tree at We really appreciate it? Does Charles have a gravestone?

RE: John C. Harry
Yes, I had figured that those old obits weren't copyrighted anymore, but I'm so weary of seeing obits -- old & new -- posted in lieu of a simple bio, that I avoid posting any obits on my memorials. Thanks again for your help!

Thank you for the obits which I have used to construct a little bio for John. Great help!
