RE: Leatherman Family Cemetery
Hi, Melody! Glad you enjoyed the pics. The real big thanks belongs to Leah Leatherman Spade who, if I remember correctly, is the one who "rediscovered" the burial ground. Cheers!

I am even more thrilled to meet you. I wasn't aware of Sarah Barbary's existence let alone the fact that both she and her brother (John Henry Fisher, my gr-gr grandfather)migrated to Page County, Iowa. John Henry and Tamar Jarnigan are buried in Memory Cemetery in Page County. I also notice on your web site an acknowledgement of April Kyle Bladh. Both she and her late Mother, Rose Kyle, have been dedicated researchers for years. I am sure to have some more questions for you later.

I am going to get in touch with the owners of the Imfirmary because the cemetery has not been mowed in a long time and i can not read the stones threw all the tall weeds. As soon as they got it mowed i will gladly take your photos for you.

RE: James McCartney RW vet's stone
Dear Melody,

Thank You so much for contacting me re: Pvt McCartney!! I LOVE it when a relative comes across an ancestor such as you did because it makes me feel that going out to these cemeteries is WORTH it!!
I found my own grandparents this way and am still coming across relatives that others have documented here on FindaGrave. I have transferred the Memorial to YOU so that he can now be with his OWN family. I have sponsored him so he will always be one of my own ANGELS (as I like to call them) and there will be that connection with us permanently.
I was just at Grandview Cemetery yesterday and did indeed wander by your ancestor's grave. He is in a beautiful place where it is SO peaceful and calming!! He would be very pleased, I think.
Anyway, thanks for contacting me! It was an HONOR to document your dear Pvt. McCartney and it will be an HONOR to sponsor him!!

p.s. If you need any help here on FindaGrave, just ask. Welcome!!
