My friend's sister, Sheri, passed away June 18, 2015, at only 47.
Hi! Please take a moment to stop by and visit my Dad, he died June 13, 2013 and I miss him terribly.
Thank you so much to everyone who leaves flowers for Dad! It means a lot to me to know he's remembered.
If you have a few moments, stop on by to visit some of my family, they're all very dear to me!
Grandma and Grandpa Gantley, I can't believe they've been gone so long. Aunt Eileen, too, who was total awesomesauce. Jeff was married to my cousin, he was always a lot of fun and we were shocked when he left us so suddenly. My Uncle Denny joined them just this January.
Q & Ra are my birds, I miss them screeching to greet me when I get home and the joy of their company.
The Black Turken is the bird in my profile picture
I've always enjoyed looking for graves and hunting for cemeteries. This has also extended to peoples' virtual cemeteries, I go through a lot of them. It's always interesting, like those in the real world. (I should also mention I love reading peoples screen names, too, some are so cute, clever, or otherwise interesting!)
I've visited most of the graves I've listed here and but I AM NOT related to most of them, if you want to edit/add a bio. on anyone I've listed please contact me and I will be happy to do so. I'd also be happy to transfer memorial ownership.
I wish that all the memorials on here had a bit of a bio, an obit, a note from family or a scrap from a newspaper. So that you, the reader, could have even a tiny glimpse into the life that is gone. Same with family links, it makes me sad so many memorials have no links, no bios, no flowers. I have been working at finding out anything I can for everyone I've added, but so many of these people are simply a mystery.
A while ago someone asked me why I do this, why do I spend time in cemeteries, taking pictures of graves, researching families that aren't my own, adding them here, linking and transferring, talking to people and finding out more. Ask me every day and I imagine I'd have a different answer every one, but in the end it boils down to love. I love what I do, and I love my family, and know that everyone was once loved, loved others, and just because they have died doesn't mean that they don't deserve the love of the living, even if it isn't a relative or friend.
Sites that are a huge wealth of information!
Death is beautiful when seen to be a law, and not an accident - It is as common as life.
~Henry David Thoreau
Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
~1 Corinthians 15:55
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
~ John 15:13
Death is a delightful hiding place for weary men.
"Mayst thou rest soundly and quietly, and may the light turf lie easy on thy bones."
"My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today."
~Richard Adams, Watership Down
It seemed to Hazel that he would not be needing his body any more, so he left it lying on the edge of the ditch, but stopped for a moment to watch his rabbits and to try to get used to the extraordinary feeling that strength and speed were flowing inexhaustibly out of him into their sleek young bodies and healthy senses. "You needn't worry about them," said his companion. "They'll be all right--and thousands like them. If you'll come along, I'll show you what I mean." He reached the top of the bank in a single, powerful leap. Hazel followed; and together they slipped away, running easily down through the wood, where the first primroses were beginning to bloom.
~Watership Down, Richard Adams

On his 1850, 1860 and NYS 1865, he states he was born in CT. On his daughter, Dianthia's death record, it says her father was born in CT. It's also on her 1880 Federal census. Could you put a note on his bio and not change the record since you don't know who provided the info? Thanks, Lori

Hey do you live in Amboy, NY or in Oswego County, NY? My great-great-great grandmother Flora (McIntyre) Nichols was born in Amboy, NY in 1843. I'm not able to find birth/marriage/death for her and her family, I know she was the daughter of Malcomb and Mary (Paterson) McIntyre from Scotland. Also, I'm not able to find Malcomb and Mary's immigration records, they immigrated from Scotland to the U.S. around 1830. So if you're able to find these records that'll be great.

Hello, I was wondering if you are ever planning to return to St. Patricks Cemetery in Colton? I have contacted St. Patricks and my family is buried there but since I live so far away I have been unable to get up there and get pics of their stones. Please respond when you have the time either way. Thank you

Love your site and all that you wrote about. So glad we do not forget I loved ones.
My question is on the gentleman listed above. In the notes about him you said he was the son of Monroe and Hattie Campbell Austin. I agree on the Monroe (his full name was Cyrus Monroe Austin) but the mother does not match the census data showing her name as Ida A (Ida Amelia lnu) could you please clarify for me? I would appreciate it very much. Thank you so much for your work.
