I have been doing geneaology since 1984. Right now I am working on the Allgood/Algood, Waltrip, Faith, Hall, Ford, Hoover, Holt, Chandler, Dycus, Ray, Summerville, Laffoon, and Pentecost families and I would love to hear from any of these family members.|
I am not related to everyone I have created a memorial for on Find a Grave. I do alot of traveling and am more than willing to try and help when and where I can. I will be more than happy to transfer one of my non-family memorials to anyone who asks.
Feel free to leave me a message here with questions or to let me know of any errors I may have submitted to Find a Grave.

Would you consider relinquishing management of the cemeteries that I have done most of the listing and most of the photographs on?
Thanks for your consideration. Muriel Brooks

Hello Kenneth, I am seeking information as to whether your Brashers are related to Hudson Brasher and wife Annis or Nancy M. Brasher.
I noticed your named Brasher was in service in MO.
We know that our Pool family lived in Pulaski, Wright Counties in MO and I read where they went to Crittenden Co. KY where Annis Pool Brasher died in 1845. Don't know where Hudson went after she died but may have been back to MO? Any ideas?

Hugh Puyear 1897-1960 #42288021 at the Cape County Memorial Cemetery is not listed on the records and I need some help finding his grave. The office out at the cemetery will not look up graves for us volunteers and I recently went over to Jackson, Mo. to the Historical Archives where they have a book with all burials listed. There were over 150 names with requests for pictures. I wrote down all the ones that were available and am trying to take those pictures . Do you know what section he might be buried in? There are 16 sections and over 7,900 burials so locating his grave is very difficult. I have asked some other people if they are related to please call the cemetery office 573 334-1909 and send me a message. Thanks for your help. Ruth Smith

Thank you Kenneth, for the nice picture you took of my grandmothers grave, i was there a few weeks ago and it is starting to tilt, so you got it before it started to tilt. With your permission I would like to post your picture of her grave to Ancestry. com. You did a wonderful job of connecting her parents and siblings. Again thank you.

I found an earlier photo that had Willie's name on the marker along with DOB and DOD. I posted that and made memorials for Ethel and Charlie, Sr. who are buried to the left of Willie. The texture of the stone is pretty but does not photo well so I will replace it next time I am out that way. Weather is obnoxious here. However, if you prefer I can delete it till I get the better one. Just let me know.

Hi Ken - can you give me the source of the date of death for William W. Barrows, died 09/27/1939 and buried at IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis, IL? I tried to find a death record for him in Monroe County, Indiana and it doesn't exist. I also couldn't find an obituary in the Monroe County paper. Thanks so much!

|drsdixieland||Jacob Holt Germanna Heritage|
Recently did the ancestry.com autosomal DNA analysis.
My maternal gggrandfather is Jacob Holt whose boyhood home was Sullivan TN.
DNA evidence indicates that Jacob Holt (1794NC-1878KY) and Ellen Holt Shipley (1802TN - 1871TN) are siblings.
My DNA 4th cousin, bc*******ur1601, has a maternal gggrandmother named Ellen Holt Shipley who resided in Sullivan TN.
Jacobs parents were listed on his death certificate as James and Lydia.
Ellen Holt's father is reported by other researchers to be either James or unknown.
Adam and Ellen Holt Shipley named a daughter Lydia and a son James (perhaps namesaked).
By definition 4th cousins share a common ggggrandparent which would be Jacob's and Ellen's parent (i.e. James).
I also have DNA matches with other Holt 4th-6th cousins whose branches trace back through Germanna descendants John Holt (Ka*****rd) and Francis Holt (R*****A) and Rachel Catherine Holt (vi*****ge), all children of Nicholas Holt 1st (1719VA - 1787VA). I believe Francis had bounty land in Sullivan TN, that John had land in Bedford TN, and Rachel resided in Gibson TN.
Because these DNA cousins are Germanna, it is highly probable that Jacob Holt and Ellen Holt Shipley are also Germanna Holt descendants.
A Francis Holt owned bounty land in Sullivan during the late 1700's and subsequently a James Holt (perhaps his brother) owned land in Sullivan TN during the early 1800's after Francis returned to oversee his deceased father's (Nicholas 1st) estate.
Here is an excerpt of a deposition by the grandson of Eva Wilhoit Holt:
Copied: "The Descendants of Michael Holt", By: Mrs A.H. Marshall:
March 1826 Orange Co., N.C., Estate Papers - Nicholas Holt Estate - page 7 - Deposition of James Holt sayeth when asked by defts. agent, how long Eve Holt, wife of Nicholas Holt and mother of James and Francis Holt has been dead, sayeth she died April 16, 1807, that at time of her death she lived with him and his mother and she being his grandmother, his mother requested (?) him. Mr. (?) Holt, to enter hir death. He done so, Signed: Jas. Holt.
(I believe this grandson is also a sibling of Jacob Holt and Ellen Holt Shipley)
