Bio and Links
Bio Photo Keeping the memory and information about our family members "alive" should be our goal.

Unless "we" make some major contribution in our lifetime, most of the information about us is known within our own family and after several generations the information fades and then it is gone!

Thanks to Find A Grave for allowing us to share this information with each other now, and for future generations to use in their genealogy research.

November 2001: Since this is Find-A-Grave and I am still alive, I wanted to leave a message for current and future readers about "my" grave location. I have just purchased space for my mortal remains in an older community mausoleum.

Old Mission Mausoleum was started in 1918 and completed in 1954 with the addition of the fourth and final unit. The construction resulted in a total expenditure of more than one million dollars. I have researched the history of this structure and it's builder of 36 years. The information along with photos can be viewed at this link.

Eternity and Me!

Sept 2014: I find it hard to write something about myself, but since I am one of those persons who never made a major contribution to the world, I will leave a short review. I have been married to the same wonderful lady for 47 years. We have two great sons' Todd and Brett, and one fabulous grandson, Tyler. My working life was spent with the Wichita Public School system (1965-1996), first as a secondary science teacher and then as a secondary building administrator. My wife and I now spend our time traveling, taking care of our grandson, and just enjoying our leisure time. Good luck in your research with your family history, and again thank you to Find-A-Grave for allowing contributions to this enterprise.

May 2009: I have just received word from the United States Department of the Interior, that my application to have the Old Mission Mausoleum placed on the National Register of Historic Places has been approved!

Would you give permission to use your fine picture of the Franklin Cemetery sign for some of distant relatives?

William and Agnes Davis
Dear David:
You have posted lovely photos of a memorial to Agnes and William Davis. From everything available to me, I assume I am correct that their unmarked graves are in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Rayle, Ga. Where are these memorials you photographed? Thanks for the pictures and info.

Groft, Alice
You have a request for Alice Groft in the Ashton, South Dakota cemetery. There is no date of death on her shared stone nor any ground broken. When I asked my husband, he said that Alice is still living....Deb

Hi David,
You made the photo of the sign for the Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, PA and I was looking at your interesting bio. My parental g grandparents(George & Theresa Steiner)#137766409 were buried in the Franklin Cemetery along with some of their children and a volunteer just fulfilled my photo request for their headstones. In reading your bio I see you are from Wichita.KS. My maternal g grandparents, Marion M and Susan Anne Whitford Smith, (#5631613 & 5631611) and other family members are buried in Park City township, Kechi Cemetery outside Wichita. I saw your Wichita virtual Cem. for Wichita P.S. teachers. My g aunt, Edith E. Smith, #5631607(1872-1961) is listed as teaching in the Wichita Public Schools in the census records. I wonder if you could verify any records for Edith E. Smith in the Wichita school system.
It was amazing to FIND you by looking at the Franklin Cemetery sign in PA. FindAGrave holds many nice surprises. Thank you for all your good work on Find A Grave! Both of My g grandfathers listed here were in the Civil War, GAR. I have linked as many family members on Find A Grave as I could, which has been very interesting. The release of the PA DC helped me lots in PA with my tree on Ancestry.com & Find A Grave. My family in Kechi Cem. were there, but not linked. I hope to hear from you.

Louis Baker
Dave,

Thanks for all your research on the Baker family. It's been helpful for me putting some pieces together. I did have a question on this: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=7586085. I cannot find any record, census or otherwise, that ties Louis to Jennie as his mother. So I'm wondering if there's any other evidence of which you're aware that would tie these folks together?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi, we've messaged before and I just thought I'd take a look at your bio again and I believe you HAVE made a major contribution in your life. You're remembering a lot of people who have passed, important to you and some to the public, and THAT, my friend, is a very important contribution in life. Just saying. Happy Valentine's Day.

RE: Childers
Have a Great day with them.
If you want another one I have a dozy for you. It is Memorial# 124530005. The only "Childers" I have left.
I was doing some Photos Requests over at Oakland Historic Cemtery in Atlanta and took this one in the Civil War area of headstones.
I do not have any "Childers" in any of my lines, but I was in the service with a Childers many years ago and that is one name I always take as I walk a cemetery.

Take care, Bud
