Bio Photo "Show me [how you care for] your cemeteries and I will tell you what kind of people you have."
Benjamin Franklin

All of my ancestors for at least six generations are from Fentress county Tennessee. I have a great deal of interest in the history of that area.
I would love to have old family photos and would be glad to share mine!
I have found many cousins here on Find a Grave and would like to meet more.

"If I didn't have those people back there, I would never have had anything to write about. That's where I got all my stories from. My life is from them. I'm going to do everything to keep up for them, in memory. That is my duty from now until I die."
- Author Ernest J. Gaines explaining why he takes care of an old cemetery on the former plantation where five generations of his ancestors, going back to slavery, are buried.

Thank you very much for the photo of my 4th great grandmother's new stone. You did a lovely job of carving it.

RE: Fred B. Mosier
Casey - thanks for all the help you've given. It appears the name is spelled more than one way which doesn't help trying to connect individuals.

Foddrill Cemetery
When you created this cemetery on Find A Grave, you left a message that were going to go back and check in the grass for more headstones. Did you ever get back there - there's always more to do than we have time for.
Also, could you please look at the Fodrill Cemetery. Someone has added an extra memorial there, with a photo. But I wonder if they were confused about which cemetery they were in.

These folks are not my relatives, but old home is one that I admire.

Fred B. Mosier
I find a picture on Find A Grave for Fred B. Mosier, but he is not listed in Rose Hill.

I looked under Moser as well as Mosier. I believe he may have been married to Lydia G. Skirvin and the son of James & Sara Jane Stephens Moser.

Any suggestions? I will get a copy of his obit to see if he does aline with Lydia and James & Sarah, but the fact I couldn't find him in the Rose Hill listings is a mystery

Casey, a friend of mine and I are currently working to clean up and restore Light Cemetery to the best of our ability. You've done so much work on so many cemeteries in the area - it is much appreciated.
We have started a tree on ancestry called Light Cemetery. I'm wondering if it would be okay with you if we use your photos in the tree. They are much better than the photos I've taken.
Also if you have any additional info on who may be buried in the cemetery - particularly the fieldstones we' love to know.
My email address is
Thank you.
