Hi Wendy, your suggestion for memorial # 92894204 makes sense, that it should be 1 year, etc. The 1892 was suggested by someone who had looked at the church record, but it could still have been misread. The other person had found 1807 as the birthdate, so, since the stone seems to indicate 1 year, etc., then 1809 would be the most logical death date as you suggest. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, OH today and photographed a grave for Edward Fought, dated 1864-1940. The record on Find A Grave is for a David Edward Fought born 1865-1940. Is this the same person? Edward was buried next to Jennie Fought.

It is the same memorial. I have corrected the way the name is as it is on the marker and the birth date.
If he is closer kin to you I will gladly transfer to you.
Thank you for your help and all you do on Find a Grave.

I am so excited! Your pic of the remnant of Edgar P Williams' gravestone has given me a clue- the first one in a long time! It also proves that John W is not his father. I am now more sure than ever that these are my 2x, and 3x great grandfathers. The reason I am posting this message, is that the pic shows the fragment as saying, "Son of" and then the break is through the last letter of the first name and "E" is the middle name, and Williams. Can you tell me what that last letter of the first name is? This is the 'break' I have been looking for!
Thanks for all of your hard work that you have done for all of us Family Hunters!

Thank you for adding Martha's maiden name to Memorial #132757291. It may help someone researching the Purdy line.

I noticed that you posted awhile back, a group of graves in a particular cemetery in Lincolnton NC. The group was for John W Williams and his children. Along with the group of siblings is the name Edgar P Williams, who has a broken headstone. Edgar P is John's father. He was born in 1810-1813 in Virginia and migrated south to York, SC. John was born in York, if this is the same family. I am pretty sure that it is, as many of John's kids correlate with my information, and my family has remained in NC (nearby) ever since.
If I find any evidence contradicting this, I will let you know.
