I am married (32 years) and have two lovely daughters. Our family also consists of 3 dogs (1 is a registered therapy dog), 1 horse, and 7 chickens. One motto in our family is a day without at least 1 good belly laugh is a day without sunshine. I love to garden (better at veggies than flowers), read, visit hospitalized children with our therapy dog, homeschool my kiddos, travel, and train dogs. |
I WILL HONOR TRANSFER REQUESTS for relatives even if they're not your direct relatives or within FAG's 4 generation rule. I understand how meaningful it can be to connect to your past. Unless, of course, they're my or my husband's direct relatives. Your family means more to you than they can to me!
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE any headstone photos of your relatives that I have placed here. They are a part of history and I don't own history. I understand you may live across the country and can't take a photo of your ancestor's stone. If my photo blesses you, then I am blessed. I would appreciate a message from you, just as an encouragement to keep taking pictures.

I have been a member of Find A Grave for a while but never really contributed. I am living in Hanau, Germany on a secondment and I see you have requests for photos. I am not too familiar with the area at the moment and wondered if you have an exact address for this cemetery. I see there is a new one but I can't find reference to the old one.
I would like to help if I can.

|Ronny Bodine||Alonzo V. East|
Hi again Nora. I am still on the trail of identifying the parents of John T. East, father of Alonzo, and have made some progress. I took the Family Finder DNA test through Family Tree DNA and found a match with 3 descendants of William East who died 1803 in Grayson County, Va. Based on the chronology, John would have been a grandson or great-grandson.
Since you have contact with the Easts in Roane County, do you know of any males who have taken the Y-DNA test? That would be the only way to match up with other male Easts descended from William who may have taken the test and confirm it is him. There are surely many Easts who have been tested, but the results would only be reported to the individuals and is not something I can access.
I plan on a trip next week to spend a few days at the library in Macon, GA which has an extensive genealogical collection heavy in NC and VA and will dig through everything to put the family together.

Hello Nora, do you oversee the memorials of Patricia Mallory? I sent a transfer request thru the edit tab and also some updates (which were updated). I wanted to see if I could get this transfer, she is part if my family.

Thank you posting on my son's site. The posting was amazing to me for when we went to lay his ashes in his favorite hunting place we all saw this big Elk! Everyone took picture but not one came out. I just spoke to the Elk and thank Joe for coming to see us. How would you know?

|David Henry||Henrys in Spencer Co KY|
I recently stumbled onto your work while researching Henry kin in Spencer Co. KY. I reportedly had a second great grandfather live in Spencer with his family in the 1840s, but I can so far find no records on them. His name was John R. Henry and he was possibly a Jr. I found the well documented John Henry Jr. and Sr. that you must be familiar with, but that is a different family. I am curious if you have heard about another Henry family in the area, that might be mine.
Keep up the good work!!
