I am a graduate of Mount Pleasant High in Providence R.I. I enlisted in Air Force and spent most of my time overseas.I am a Vietnam Vet and spent 10yrs with the Air National Guard.I retired after 40yrs with Pratt & Whitney as a jet engine inspector and the last 10yrs as an FAA inspector for the company.I have been researching my family tree as a hobby.I walk a lot of historical cemeteries looking for my ancestors final resting place.I take a lot of photos and clean up some plots of the family when I find them.My mothers side of family (Whitford)dates back to the 1600's.They are called swamp yankees around here.I have many historical cemeteries located a short distance from my house.I recently became involved with Pocasset cemetery in Cranston.I only live 2 miles from their.I do a lot of cleaning of grave sites and take photos as I go.I started a page on facebook for the cemetery if anyone is interested.I use ancestry.com for the info I enter on the bios.If you find a error please send me a note and I will correct it.|
News flash:As a result of all my work at this cemetery they have put me on as a board member.I will try and fill out more photo request when I figure out the filing system which is very old.
I have started another task at this cemetery: I am posting all the burial cards on F.A.G. so expect a lot of edits. I am doing it alphabetically so I do not know when I will be done. This way I capture all the single plots with only a small numbered stone. I will not be taking photos of small stones because they are basically all the same except for the number but you will have the location.
Another reminder on photo request. Sometimes their is no marker for the grave only an empty plot. Sometimes the stone is overturned on the inscription and to heavy to flip over. Other times it is a flat marker that gets buried over time.

Thank You for updating burial information for the Hawkins memorials. Very very appreciated!!
Thanks for posting this info! It's been very helpful in tracking down my Hird relatives who came to Rhode Island from Bradford, Yorkshire in the early 1880s.

Dear George, NO wonder I could not find his headstone when I was there a few years ago!
Thank you for taking the time to find this for me, very interesting...it makes me wonder what happened here to him!
I appreciate it very much,
Sincerely, Nanette Spector
Thank you so much for taking the picture of the toppled headstone. Maybe a relative will see the memorial and want to have the headstone put back in it's original state.

Thank you so much for what you do. I was never expecting to see a picture of my Dad's grave marker when I followed the link from Ancestry.com
I had no idea anyone did this. I would be willing to help if the need is there.
Thank you once again,
Bambi (Pezzullo) Capracotta
