Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Nancy and I live in North Louisiana. I have been working on my family tree since 2007 and have really learned a lot. I am also interested in Civil War History and Historic places.

My husband and I have a cattle ranch and a pine tree farm. We have a one son who is into ranching also

My research includes these surnames: Edwards, Thomas, Davis, Tooke, Huggins, Perritt, Heflin, Tomlinson, Collins, Regan, Moon, Wimberly & Holt.

My husband says if I die before him he is going to have "She finally made it" put on my tombstone because I love going to cemeteries. HaHa

S1 Billy Murl Collins
Hi Nancy, I see where you left a flower on memorial for this man who died on Dec 7 1941 on the USS Arizona in Honolulu. By any chance, are you related? Billy was born 4 Sept 1921 to Oscar Myers and Lona Alice (Brooks) Collins at Glendale, Maricopa Co., Arizona. He was living in San Bernardino Co California when he joined the Navy. Our gen society here in Pine Co MN are working on a project for memorials for the men of the USS Arizona. I am looking for more information about his sister Mary L. Collins born about 1924.

Mary Tooke Davis (1635-1685)
Mary was the daughter of James Tooke of Isle of Wight Co VA. She married John Davis (1635-1714) who was born in England. Their son was Samuel Gent Davis (1663-1738) is my 6th great grandfather. Mary had a brother, Thomas Tooke. The family migrated from Gravesend England.

17th Century of Isle of Wight Co VA by John B. Boddie is a good source for Mary Tooke Davis and her father, James Tooke.

Another source: Descendants of Samuel Davis I of Isle of Wight Co VA (c1610-c1667) compiled by
Richard Dietz.

Do hope our Tooke families connect.

Margaret Caroline "Carrie" Collins Speer
I noticed your inquiry about the wife of James Augustus Speer (1866-1935).

Searches have been made for her burial place, but with no avail yet. Her information has been placed with husband, James Augustus Speer in Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery, Coosa Co Al. 147695737.

Are you connected to Clarence Davis Collins (1875-1884), son of Dr. Romanty Malone Collins Sr and Cecelia H. Davis, daughter of Thomas Kenyon Davis (1821-1846) and Lucy Jane Burton of St Helena Parish LA?

Cecilia H. Davis Collins (1853-1876) is the sister of my great grandfather, John Burton Davis.

I also have Tooke and Wimberly names in my family lines.

Trust some of this information is a connection of your descendants to mine.

RE: Kenneth Bailiff
Some newspapers copyright their obits; I.e., the LA Times. I don't know of a general copyright rule. I'm certainly no expert on the law, though. A cousin of mine is more aware of this stuff and told me about the Times. She hasn't said anything about it generally.
