Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in Monticello, IN, and my back yard was a very large cemetery, "The Old Monticello Cemetery." We always played in the cemetery as children and never once thought anything of it.

When I got older, I started studying the names of the people on the stones, and I started trying to learn about them. When I moved to Evansville, IN at the age of 16, along with my parents and brother, I never forgot the fond memories I had playing in the cemetery. I didn't realize that this wasn't how most people grew up!

I started working on my own family history last year, and I have also now started trying to take care of my own family's graves, which are mainly in the Shoals/Loogootee, IN area.

If I have entered anything incorrectly on a memorial, please do not hesitate to let me know, using the "Edit" tab. I am interested in having everything correct!

I try to upload photos when I can. Anyone has permission to use any of my photos for any reason. Message me if you have a question! I always love to hear from fellow gravers!

If you are sending corrections, please add the Find A Grave Memorial Numbers

Johanna Howard Descendant
After many years of research on my father's patrilineal line(s), I've come to the conclusion that I'm a descendant of the subject person, and thus a descendant of Abraham Howard (who is buried in the cemetery near Loogootee, Indiana). How I came to this conclusion is a long story, so I won't go into the details, here.

It appears I'm descended from Johanna Howard's youngest son, Grant C. Strickland (1868-1947). I sent you an email at your email address, but didn't receive a reply; therefore I'm using Find-A-Grave's public messaging system in an effort to contact you.

Sincerely, Greg L. Farnsworth, Janesville, Wis.

Samlel Ellis and Martha Ellis
Find A Grave Memorials: 97731883 and 97731912. Would you be so kind as to transfer these Memorials over to me. Martha Ellis was a sister to my grandmother, and daughter of William Hooper and Lorana "Green" Hooper. I would like to be able to tie them in with her parents and her siblings.

Please consider my request.

Vernon W Crane
Carolyn, Do you know where Vernon Crane's headstone is located in Goodwill cemetery? Robert L and Clara Crane (also buried in Goodwill) had a son named Vernon W also born in 1896. I lost track of him after 1920 census, and I didnt know what happened to him. If you think this might be him, I may order a death certificate and see if coincidences match.
