Bio and Links
Bio Photo Like so many, I originally came to this site for geneology research. I have been working on Mound Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin as a hobby. My method is to take pictures, one block at a time, and create memorials based on the photos. I have completed blocks 30,31,33,34 and 35. I am currently working on block 32. Due to my method, I have not been recording every person in the cemetery, just each stone. Sometimes a stone may be legible but the photo is not, so if you need me to go check something again for you or take a new picture please don't hesitate to ask! I am not related to anyone in Mound Cemetery, so if you would like a transfer, please send it through the SAC tab and mention your relationship. I won't transfer my family unless FAG rules oblige me to do so. If you would like to use my pictures on other website, all I ask is that you credit me for them :)

And if you have a moment or if I have helped you at all, it would mean a lot to me if you would please leave flowers for Peter Eckstein.

Mound Cemetary Racine WI

I came to the site to do some genealogy research (and look up some famous graves) and noticed that you have a photo of my Great-Grandparents grave stone. I have to say that I was quite surprised and when I told my Mom about it she was as surprised as I was. Why the interest in Mound? Are you from Racine? Thanks.Julie

This is a VERY late thank you for the photos of my GG grandparents graves. I appreciate you taking the time to do that. I have a lot of ancestors buried in Mound and still hope to get there one day!

RE: Anne Brown
I will post a couple of documents for you to view on her Find A Grave page, please delete these when you are done. 1910 census and the Family History book of the Bruun's, changed to Brown when they immigrated.

RE: Daniel Bowen request
Sorry, haven't had a chance to be online much in the last year. I got a photo from his wife, my cousin. Thank you for your efforts though.

RE: Mound Cemetery, Racine, WI
I'm sorry I overlooked this! I am/was actually posting them from walk throughs from a cousin. There were more, but I stopped as I saw several people working in that cemetery from photographs. Photographs are far more reliable, so I stopped. After everyone is finished I'll find some time to go back through and double check all the listings. That way if I have some that aren't there I'll add them.
And......haha.. like anything else, I do it because I enjoy it!
Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Gustave Eifler grave
Thanks so much. Does Oletta Eifler have her own headstone or is she buried with Gustave? Marion

RE: Edits
If you said anything other than the automatic Find A Grave message, it didn't come through to me. I don't find that message to be rude, so no problems there.

A Wolfe
Pisetta family
Sorry, I'm not of any relation to the Pisetta's in the area. Most of the memorials I create are simply to catalog local cemeteries. If you're hoping for Obit's from the Collinsville Herald, I can probably help but it would take a little time.

RE: Mound Cemetery requests
My Mound Cemetery memorials are based on on-going research to determine how a California cousin and I are related to the Wrights and Tates [obits of another long-dead cousin says he was]. Since we haven't yet been able to determine the relationship, I can't ask for locations by claiming to be "family." All photo requests have been removed.

Thanks for the information.

RE: Racine
Hi Vicki. Good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear that someone else is actively working on the Racine cemeteries. I enjoy doing this when I get bored or stuck on my own genealogy projects.

I'm concentrating on the Catholic cemeteries, Holy Cross Caledonia to start. I know the Catholic cemeteries director pretty well, so that's been a big help. Not to mention the fact that I have many, many relatives buried at both Holy Cross cemeteries. I've just finished all the mausoleum buildings on Hwy 32 - working on entering everything now.

I talked to the guy from Mound cemetery just yesterday...not a very nice person (I'll leave it at that)! And of course he is in charge of Graceland cemetery too. I was out at West Lawn last week fulfilling a request for someone who already had plot numbers. They weren't especially friendly there either.

Mound is a pretty big cemetery! How far have you gotten? What can I do to help? Maybe we can put our heads together and figure out a way to get those records! You can use my regular email:

I can fill you in on my conversation with the guy from Mound and some thoughts I have on pursuing those records.
