Well you know my name, here's my story. My family lines run throughout Summers, Greenbrier, Monroe, and Lincoln counties in West Virginia and Sampson and Cumberland counties in North Carolina.|
I'm twenty years old and I began getting into family history around 2009. Little did I know what I would get into and how much information I would find. I love cemeteries and finding out family history that nobody really knew before.
I began with tracing the Wykle family line which then tied into the Erskine and Morgan sides. I have recently followed the Browning line, the Taylor and Spell lines, and the Harvey and Ellison lines. I also work on a few lines for my friends.
Family names: Wykle (Various spellings), Erskine, Kessinger, Morgan. // Browning, Meade, Estep. // Taylor, Spell, Blue. // Harvey, Ellison.
I did maintain and add just family memorials but then I started branching out and covering complete cemeteries in Summers County. Also through genealogy, I have made a lot of great connections.
If I have up a picture and you want it removed, let me know and I will gladly remove it. Also, if you have any photo requests in Summers County or surrounding areas, I will do my best to get it.

"Everybody loves you when you're six foot in the ground. - John Lennon"
* 8/11/13 - Work is keeping me very busy lately so I haven't added many memorials in months. If you leave a message on my page, I'll get around to seeing it. If you have a change for me, my email comes to my phone and I'll update as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi Brittany, I enjoyed reading your bio and I have a question. I am a little confused about Lona Jane Hedrick Pitzer. There are birth, marriage and death records that don't make a lot of sense. These records are all on the West Virginia Culture Web site. The birth record has her name a Laura J Hedrick - parents Matthew A and Susan F Hedrick. Marriage record has her name Lona J Hedrick groom Frank H Pitzer and parents names M.A. and S.F. Hedrick. and her death record has her name Lona Jane Pitzer. Father Mathew A Hedrick and Mother Alice Allen. Informant is Frank H Pitzer. I found a marriage record for Matthew A Hedrick and Susan Frances Smith but not for Matthew A Hedrick and Alice Allen. Could Matthew have been married twice?

The parents of Myrtle Reba Carter Crawford, that is buried in the Woodrumtown Cemetery are Charles Holt Ward and Cora E Kincaid Ward. Her mother Cora is buried in the Ramp Cemetery. Her father Charles is buried in Cooper Cemetery that is at Sandstone. Could you link her to her parents?

Brittany, I really appreciate your photo of the gravestone for George M. Hedrick and his wife Lizzie (Oak Grove Cemetery in Summers Co., WV)! I was hoping the stone would clear up the matter of which was his true date of birth (I've found several), but it turns out that the dates inscribed for him on the stone don't even match his death certificate...even his year of death is different from the certificate!
Many thanks for taking time to photograph their stone!
|Walter H. Pack Family||Hi Brittany:|
Thank you so very much for the updates and the marvelous beautiful photos you had taken at the Talcott Cemetery. OUTSTANDING has to be your middle name. Appreciate your efforts of doing your very best.
|Judi Kowalski||Thank you for the photos|
I appreciate your valiant effort in taking the headstone photo for the Coiners. It must have been maddening to find the beautiful styrofoam cross with the blue and white adornments in front of the very headstone you wished to photograph for me. Had it been my photo to take, I would surely have temporarily dislodged (if possible) the cross, taken my photo and gingerly replaced the cross before leaving the grave site. I wish I didn't feel the need to say that I'm disappointed that all I can read from the angle of the picture is the surname "Coiner." The individual names, dates of birth (or years) and dates of death (or years) aren't possible for me to discern no matter how much I might try. Thanks again for your effort! Judi

Thank you for the photos of the Myers tombstones, John and Sarah. Any chance you can add the inscription below the name and dates on John's stone? I can't read it from the angle the picture was taken. I very much appreciate your diligence in getting this photo for me.
