My father was born and raised in Rockingham County, Virginia -- as were many generations of his ancestors. My passion to discover his roots has led to digging deeply into old dusty records to bring my ancestors to life and put flesh on their bones. . . . to know more than just names and dates, but to know them and their challenges. I have authored two books of stories, photos and genealogy of my father's family. My family names include Hensley, Maiden, Meadows, Gardner, Smith, Baugher, Eppard, Moyer, Berry, Broyles, Yager, Clore, Cave, Sampson, Keyser and Wyant.|

Thanks Jan for linking her parents.
Hi there! I was looking on this website for family history and pictures and noticed you posted the pictures for my great great great great grandfather Phillip Shiplett. I was wondering if you hand anymore or where I could get a copy of the one of him and his wife. His son was Lycurgus Shiplett if you have any information on him that would be priceless as well. Let me know! Thanks so much

|Diana McDevitt Eyler||Relatives|
Hi! My name is Diana McDevitt Eyler. And I think we maybe related. My Great Grandfather was Benjamin Noah Seal. He was born in Page, Virginia and died in Page, Virginia. He is buried in Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton, Virginia. He was married to Edna May Merica. They had the following children Abbie Lee ( my grandmother ) Oscar Lynard, Homer Johnson, Nellie Ann, Lud Gilmer, Clarence Willie, and I think there was a Russell. Oscar and Homer passed away as babies. Abbie Lee married Cecil Ernest McDevitt. And their chidren were Margaret, Betty, Pauline, Alvin, Donald ( my father )and Eleanor. I was E-mailed by Ancestry.com about Memorial # 56912974. James Frazier was my third Great Grandfather. I'am fairly new at this. My father will be turning 79 years old. So I'am trying to find out more about our family. He remembers Benjamin I was not born yet. I hope to hear from you and Thank You.

Could this be the Bob Samuels from McGahysville, Virginia? He would be a Vietnam Era Veteran that served at Camp Ames, Korea.

my name is kristy and i am the granddaughter of elizabeth virginia sampson which is the daughter of george sampson and sister to emory sampson, lottie hensley, john sampson , and charlie.my mother is delois ann bentley (wilbon).i've been trying to compile my family tree for the last few years but most all my family that i knew would have been able to tell me anything have passed. all i knew abt my great-granddaddy was that his name was george l sampson and that he was buried in an unmarked grave up on the hill behind my aunt lotties house. i would have tried asking lotties son leo before he passed away but i never was able to get to see him very often.if you could help me out with any information i would greatly appreciate it. with my mom not knowing much and both my grandparents gone i am kind of at a standstill. i hope that this info can also be of some help to you. i look forward to hearing from you.
