As a lifetime history buff, and having lived near some old cemeteries, it is only "natural" that the two are now combined.
I've catalogued all the Confederate fallen in the Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va. I will soon publish a roster/book with these findings and short bios/service records of these men. A copy will be presented to the Spotsylvania Courthouse Museum.
Also, I'm in the process of doing the same for the Confederate fallen and veterans in the Fredericksburg Confederate and City cemeteries.
--------------------------------------------------
As Historian of the above cemeteries, please feel free to inquire of any Confederate burials.
Also, I give tours of each.

The Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County Battlefields National Park Service refers Confederate burial inquiries to me.

my attempt to get Arey Neave declared famous
I've revised my bio of Airey Neave on Findagrave.com, still hoping to satisfy the unwritten rules, and once again submitted an application for their "famous" designation. Most grateful if you're able to take a look and cast a vote! Maybe this time he'll make it.

RE: MacGregors
Thanks for the link, I will add that to my own database. The name change was supposedly in 1820.
Sidelights of Maryland History; Hester Dorsey Richardson, notes McGregor and MacGregor in the same paragraph, LOL.

At one time, I might have made yet another visit to Maryland Archives to read the original document, BUT in several of my original wills, the names are spelled several ways on the same document. Since it is not my direct line, I
have focused on other ancestors.

Isn't this fun?
Thanks again,
Margaret

Alaric MacGregor

Thanks for the edit. The records that I located
use Mortimer for the middle name and the surname, McGregor. I will be happy to change the name in the memorial but wondered if you had any idea why he changed the spelling. Obviously it is the
Scottish spelling?

Your help is appreciated.

RE: Col Henry Hill
I did get a photo of his stone. I'll add it soon. I photographed all the Hill stones in that lot. It's close to the road (one block down) in gate 4. Martha

RE: Franklin Travis & Marietta Hill
Glad to do it. I found Frances Everline Hill also and added her memorial. Would you like it transferred to you? Martha

Isabella Fleming Harper
Dear BigFrench,

Hi -- I have your edit for Isabella Harper to change the name on the memorial page to Catherine Isabella Harper. I have noted in the bio section that Isabella's given name was Catherine Isabella, but that she was known by Isabella throughout her life. I thought it might be easier for people to find her during a search if we left the memorial page with the name she was known by. What do you think? -- judi mcg
