I have been working on my family tree since June of 1992; it's a never ending hobby that's for sure. I'm thankful that my father's parents didn't really throw anything away. It not only helped me have furniture in my house when I first moved out on my own, but I've also managed to gather quite a bit of ancestorial information from the old letters I've found. I am recently married (Feb 4 2006) to a great guy from the state of Arkansas. I tease him, saying that I had to find a husband over 250 miles from my home town so that I wouldn't be marrying a cousin. But as it turns out, I have his last name in my family tree too: Long. We are all related though, through Adam & Eve =)
Feel free to leave pictures or flowers on any of my memorials. But whatever you do, DON'T leave RED flowers on my Aunt Margie's memorial! She hated red roses ;)
If you want to trace my line of Capps, you could start with my dad Bobby Wayne Capps and follow the family links back in time.
Names I research (just to name a few): CAPPS, CROWDER, BULLINGTON, COMSTOCK, WOLF, VAN HORN, ATKINS, ACUFF, DAVIS, HOUSER, AUGUSTINE, JOHN, JOHNSON, ALEXANDER, MARRS, CASEY, MOORE, McKELVEY, CROSSLEY, WILSON, SHULL, SMYTH, BOWMAN (OR PATTERSON), BURTRUM, GOSSETT, GIBBONS, MALAN GARNER, BLALOCK, LONG, SMALL, DILLARD, HILL, MOULDER, ELLIS, McKELVEY, LYSTER, NIPPS, HENSON, FARLEY, WYLIE...

 | RE: Mary Alice Bullington Argo I did find that they were in Weakley County, TN in 1900 and shows her born in MO, which I changed on her memorial.
I did find the marriage of E. E. Argo & M. A. Bullington on 8 Dec 1882 in Carroll County, TN. Their oldest son's death certificate (John "Logan" Argo) indicates his parents as E. E. Argo & Mary Alice Bullington.
It does appear to be her to me looking at Mary A. Bullington in the 1880 census with her parents, although they were in Sebastian County, AR then, but with the marriage above, she was not married before. | | | Vicky

 | Rose Ardella Mae Peterson Thanks so much for the corrections and adding the links to Rose Ardella Mae Peterson's memorial. I have added the photos to her memorial and deleted my duplicate memorial. Thanks so much for your help and co-operation. It means a lot.Added by Judie on Apr 24, 2013 7:33 PM | | | Anna Lee McKelvey
 | my dad, Arthur Leo McKelvey Hi Sarah Capps. I want to thank you for taking the time to add pictures of my family memorials, with information you added about my Dad. I know we are cousins from lots of relatives in Missouri, Colorado, and I think we have met before, a long time ago. I agree with you, this is a family that seemed to keep every paper, news papers etc. with them wherever they moved. I have done a lot of research on my McKelvey line and on Grandma Carrie Moore's family. If there is any way we can communicate I would really appreciate it. | RE: Kiester memorials It's not a duplicate if it's his actual burial location. Stones erected in other places are cenotaphs. Per the Find a Grave guidelines: "A cenotaph is a tomb or a monument erected in honor of a person or group of persons whose remains are buried elsewhere. It can also be the initial marker for a person who has since been interred elsewhere. To add a cenotaph, create a memorial just like any other. Then email edit@findagrave.com with a link to the memorial and a message to mark it as a cenotaph."
Edit will straighten it out for you. Thanks, Cheri | | | Margaret Mecum
 | RE: Racksy Long I'm out at that cemetery several times a year, and always look for the ones I didn't find before. I've looked for her several times, I do remember one Long but that doesn't mean that there is only one, What is her husbands name, and next time I'm there I'll look again. If I do find him, shall I take a wide shot and that way have what may be her space? | | | Dennis Gore

 | RE: Hi Hi Sarah - I am so sorry I just saw your hello here!! Haven't been on here for some time obviously. Please let's communicate-I'd love to know how we tie in! I'm Hester Capps Stewart's great granddaughter. So please let's talk! My email is Sharon_6441@msn.com and I live in Aurora, Colorado. So if there are some Capps back in North Carolina that would prefer that I sign over all the Capps' I have put in, I'd be happy to do so (because you all probably know and have access that I don't being so far away!). Thanks-and I hope to hear from you sooner than you heard from me!!! (sorry again!). Sharon Stewart McAtee | | | ShadoeHawk
 | Glenna Lambert You list Salem Cemetery as being in Kirby, Arkansas. The Cemetery is actually in Glenwood, Arkansas. Kirby, Arkansas is 7 miles down the road. My grandparent's homestead was right next to the Salem Cemtery. | | | | [View all messages...] |
