My name is Vickie. I grew up in Swannanoa, N.C. and now I live in Asheville. I enjoy researching family history and walking through cemeteries to read stones. Everyone deserves to be remembered. Someone somewhere loved them. Thanks to the great contributors here at Find a Grave, I have been able to see the graves of many family members that I would have never seen if it wasn't for their generosity. It is so nice to be able to visit a loved one's grave and not even leave the house.|
If any of my memorials contain errors, or if you have information to add, please send me a message or an edit. All memorials are done with the utmost respect of those who have passed on and those of us left behind.

When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.
I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.
We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.
Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

Vickie, I found your page for Charles Richmon Johnson. He had a sister, Dorothy. She was in my high school graduating class. We are having a reunion and are trying to locate members. If you have info about her, would you contact me at MarieBCR@gmail.com ? Many thanks.

Vickie, You're very welcome and it was an honor to do this for Leonard and you. Thanks for remembering him with what you've added. Sincerely and In Your Service, Allen
Edit accepted for Michael & Steven but I am very curious as to some kind of story behind this. Both the bots were young and had a very small time period between their deaths.
Anything you can share?
|James Abernathy||John Abernathy and son William|
Who ever posted that John Abernathy married to Rhoda Davis in Find a grave was born in Ireland is incorrect. Additionally whoever put William Abernathy married to Ruth Lindsey as buried in Tippah County Mississippi Bethel Cemetery is incorrect and he did not die in 1813. William and Ruth Abernathy with several children are buried in Bethel Cemetery in Desoto County Mississippi. If you have something proven different than to what I have please contact me.

I have added some to her memorial: her first name (Hattie), and that she was a homemaker. Find A Grave has asked that we not add complete obituaries because of the space they take.
Thank you for the info.

Me, too. There is a grave site in Pennsylvania that someone walked through and took down the information on the gravestone and posted it on Google. I printed it and put all that info on Find A Grave. Periodically I get a request to transfer management to a family member which I happily do. I am a family oriented person. And, I definitely appreciate it when someone like you goes to the work of walking through a cemetery to add names to Find A Grave.
Actually, the father of Jervis, Jr. was added to Find A Grave quite a number of years ago. I requested the memorial be transferred to me, but have never heard from the person who added the memorial. Fortunately for me, the person who added the memorial of my uncle included a picture of him.
Again, thank you for the work you do for those of us who want to link our families.

Vicki, ever so many thanks for the work you do in walking cemeteries.
My Gordon family were quite prominent in Morganton. I very much appreciate all the information I can gather regarding the Gordons. I live in California, so it is very hard for me to gather all the tidbits regarding my family.
The father of Jervis and my grandmother were sister and brother. I am delighted - excited - to link the family.
Again, thank you very much for providing me information for my cousin Jervis and his family.
