Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm retired. I've been doing genealogy since about 1991. Like many genealogists I enjoy walking through old cemeteries and wondering about the lives of those who are laid to rest below my feet.

Contact me, VIA THE EDIT TAB on a memorial,

if I have entered info of a friend or loved one and there is an error to be fixed or additions to be made. I welcome a POLITE request for changes, corrections, etc. Again a POLITE request.

PLEASE USE THE TAB on the specific memorial to send or suggest corrections or ask questions. DEMANDS OR RUDENESS WILL BE IGNORED.

REMEMBER THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY REASON FOR RUDENESS OR TELLING EACH OTHER HOW TO DO THEIR JOB! Politeness goes much further.

Thank you.

Watauga
I do know. Sort of funny that the Watauga chapter is Memphis but it is the oldest chapter in TN. :-)

I too am a transplant although I did spend parts of my childhood in the south.

I am also distantly related to the Embree's :
So 5th great grandfather Jehu Coulson is the brother of Ester Coulson who married Thomas Embree. They had two sons (and a couple of girls that moved to Ohio) that were Tennessee pioneers Elihu and Elijah Embree. They lived in Jonesborough, Washington County, Tennessee.

Thanks for your note.

Is there a possible connection to T Harold Brown who is buried in the description for that of Harold Port?
There is a definite link bwteen the Port and Brown families. The heastone is labelled T Harold in the Brown family plot.

There is no headstone for Harold Port.

RE: Faye and Elliot
Oh, I'm so sorry. When I saw 'Faye & Elliott' those names just didn't 'compute!' Mark it up to a Senior Moment. Those Sr Moments are lasting longer and longer! Thanks again.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the above subject sent to me. I have made no such inquiry. Did you perhaps send this to me in error?

Solange
Matthew Vernon Bonner
Hello,

Actually it was my mother who left the notes on the memorials and I don't know very much about the family.

My father was kin to Vernon Bonner through his mother Winnie who was a Phillips before she married Alvin Bonner. The kinship is such a distant one, Vernon and my Dad were 8th cousins making Matthew a 9th cousin.

Have a Blessed day ~ Solange

I've taken a photo of the temporary marker and will keep an eye open for the permanent marker when it is placed.

Thanks so much for your edit. I've made the change you requested to this memorial. If this is a family member or close friends, I'll be glad to transfer. Just let me know.

Rev Billy E "Bill" Chancellor
You inquired if I had no knowledge of his burial location. I will confess I do not. I had assumed he was buried with his wife, Evelyn Ruth Risk, and was unaware that his family "kept the ashes". It is possible the ashes were scattered at Fairmount, in which case they would have not record of it.
