Bio and Links
Tracing the family roots is so interesting and full of surprises, for myself and the rest of our family. When you learn more about your family from past generations, you learn to love and respect those people of the past, as if you known them yourself. Some of the surnames I'm searching are: Adkins, Boggs, Bussey, Cantrall, Creekmur, Daniel, Daniels, Edwards, England, Hall, Hodges, Kirkpatrick, Meeker, Riffle, Smalley, Such, Suckow, Zook, and more......just to name a few.

Joseph Riffle and Barbara Allman
Hi Leslie - This couple has all kinds of things going on!! Barbara it seems to be that she really liked men and got bored a bit!
She married 1) Joseph Riffle in Athens County Ohio on Dec 18, 1845 Rumor has it that he had a family across the river in Mason County W.Va.They had 4 children together.
2) William McGhee in Vinton County on Sept 24, 1874. He died not long after they were married.

3) She also had a son with David Westfall but they were not married. The son was Martin Westfall.

4) She also had a son with Martin McCarty and they were not married. His name was Samuel McCarty.

I am continuing to look for more about Joseph as there are other connections into my Allman family. I am on FB if you would like to converse more here on Find A Grave too. Randy Sue Page McKeever

Zebulon Cantrell
Find A Grave has been very helpful but the entry for Zebulon Cantrell is not helpful. How do I put this tactfully, better no entry than one as poorly sourced and erroneous as this one.

This man was my 6th great grandfather and his parents are well known and documented.

Zebulon Cantrell is native born as were his three siblings. All were born in or around Philadelphia. Zebulon was probably born in 1697.

His parents were immigrants. It is believed that Richard Cantrell (b abt. 1666; d 31 May 1753) arrived in Philadelphia in 1682 or 1683 possibly on the ship," Bristol Merchant"I think not but others say the ship "Welcome"; however, there is solid evidence that he married Dorothy Jones about 1693 in Philadelphia.

Zebulon's wife and death are not so clear but his parents are clear.
Best wishes,
Jan Goss

Leslie,
Thanks for posting these Halls.

I am helping a friend do her genealogy, and she almost cried when we found the bio you wrote about her relatives.

Thanks so much.

Zebulon's brother
Hi Leslie. Reading your bio of Zebulon, sounds like one of his brothers may be Richard Cantril (Cantrell). See this link: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=cantrell&GSfn=richard&GSby=1700&GSbyrel=before&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=75617345&df=all&
