I was born and raised in Kosciusko, MS (Attala County)My family is mostly from MS (Attala and Holmes Counties). I am researching the Goss, Hodges, Bingham, Crook, Lovin, Simmons, Yeager, Veal, Eubanks, Wade, Nash with some Black and Prewitt connections.
My husband, Johnny, is originally from Attala County also. We are researching the Sanders, Herod, Parkerson, Self connections for his family.
I am actively trying to photograph and document all the graves in Attala County. I will gladly transfer any memorial to DIRECT family members according to Find a Grave conditions. "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations." Please don't ask if the memorial does not fit these conditions.
FIND A GRAVE CONDITIONS FOR REQUESTING TRANSFERS:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me? First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial. | |

 | Nellie L Moore Minchew I found your photo's of the Moore and Minchew families. I thought that you might like to know that you are actually related to them through the Allen Allen Sanders and the Herod family.

 | Muriel Hodges 13014821 Hi, Family connections have been made. Thank you for the information. | | | John Andrew Meyer
 | Sanders , Herod families I seems that we may have some common ancestors. I descend from James Herod and Elizabeth McCarty. I have done a lot of research on the Herod family. I have several Sanders family members coming from Dickson Co. Tennessee with the Richard R Allen family whose daughter Eliza Allen married Sion Sanders Jr.
I would love to hear from you and compare notes etc.

 | Elizabeth Sanders McMillan 1872-1964 Hello Lisa,
Do you happen to know who her parents were? I know her husband was Felix T. McMillan.
I am desperate to fill in the blanks for her parents.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks,

 | Ashley photos Lisa, I was wondering if I could use the photos that you took of Elizabeth & Williamson Ashley tombstones in the Ashley Cem. (49051291 & 49051252 memorial numbers) for my family tree on ancestry.com?

 | RE: Brown Cemetery Even though the cemetery is listed in the Attala, MS Cemeteries book and read back in Jun 1979 by James M. Hines, I was kind of afraid of that. I know the Brown cemetery was a small, private cemetery. Probably on someone's property, long forgotten and now way overgrown with shrubs and bushes. So sad these things are lost forever. Thanks for letting me know though.
Think I'll leave my request open in hopes one day someone might be hiking through the bushes and stumble upon something. Keeping my fingers crossed! ;o) | | | | [View all messages...] |
