Elza and Mary Park
Hi, wanted to give you a heads up... it looks like we've located Mary, Henry Thomas and Francis Marion on the 1840 Census. Check out the updated memorial for Mary. It helps narrow down the date of death for Elza too. :-)

Joseph Teter
I'm trying to find the Joseph Jesse Teter, who was married to Lenora D. (Hillyard) Teter- Find A Grave Memorial# 120568263

Do you know who he is, maybe his date of birth & death, so that I can add him to Lenora's family tree?

Thank you,

Joan Frum (AKA WVRoots)

William Cage
I noticed the note you placed about your great grand Aunt Elizabeth Hale who married William Cage. It appears that your Elizabeth was his third wife. His first wife was also named Elizabeth (my ancestor). I am trying to find information about your ancestor--birth year, their marriage year, children from previous marriage, children from their marriage (if any), and the name of her first husband. I just want to clean up my records. Thanks so much!

Col Thomas Poage headstoe inscription

We may have exchanged messages on another website in the past - if so, please excuse my repetition.

My gr grandfather and one of his brothers served under Col. Poage in the 50th Virginia Infantry in 1861-62. I have visited Col. Poage's grave at Newbern Cemetery and took some photos.

There is a fairly long inscription in Poage's headstone but it's very weather worn and hard to read; I've not been able to decipher it - would you know the complete text of the inscription?

Thomas Brooks 1805

I just wanted to get in touch. I have never added any information to Find A Grave. I would like your help in making a correction. Thomas Brooks's youngest son was James Law Brooks. The dates 1846-1915 shown on Francis Brooks in the list of Thomas's childen are correct for James. It just looks like the names got mixed up.

Best regards,
Ralph Brooks

RE: Alice Fawcett
Hi, I stopped visiting Find A Grave when I got so much hassle about duplicate listings by people claiming ownership, often with incorrect information. I removed the bulk of my work.
Yes, I have close relationships with you. I descend from Martha McComas Norris through daughter Elcy who married Charles Fawcett. Charles and Elcy's portraits hang on my living room wall, along with the other portraits of 36 of my blood ancestors. Charles and Elcy's daughter Carrie married Emerson McCort CAPPER, my great grandfather.

Alice Fawcett Capper was a daughter of Joseph (1710 - 1776) and Margary Walsh Fawcett. Joseph was a son of Thomas (1683 - 1747) and Lydia Boyce Fawcett.
Thomas Fawcett was a son of John (b. 1660) and Judith Thwait Fawcett. Judith died in 1747.

Alice was born at Chester, PA, in 1736, soon after her parents moved to America from Eastern Ulster.

Sure you can use it. Thank you for asking. Was glad to get the picture for you. That cemetery is just a mile down the road from us. My wife has family buried there.
