I have been recording genealogy and family histories for approximately 40 years. This has always been an interest of mine--since childhood. I live on a piece of the old farm where I was born and my family has owned for generations. Several lines of my ancestors have been in this area of Southeast Georgia for over 200 years. I am a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, both of which I am very proud.|
I have been a member of Find A Grave for much longer than stated above. I was unable to access my old account and had to start anew. I've always enjoyed visiting old cemeteries, as well as old houses.
My husband, Larry, and I have published two pictorial history books: "Treutlen County, Georgia" in 2008 and "Montgomery County, Georgia" in 2010. These books can be purchased online at Arcadia Publishing Co. We enjoyed visiting people in these counties who invited us into their homes and allowed us to scan their precious family photographs.

Anything I post, photos or memorial biographies, may be copied and used for personal use as long as you give me credit, just as I personally do if I can find the source.
I welcome corrections and additions to my posts and will respond to all messages. This site is a wonderful tool, but it is only effective if those who post memorials will strive to place them in the correct cemeteries and will continue to maintain them.

I also meant to mention that when a problem is reported on a Photo Request, there are two options for submission. It asks if the Request should be removed and the two possible answers are: "No, keep the Photo Request active." or "Yes, please review and remove this Photo Request." When I submitted this problem, I clicked on that second because (thinking I was submitting on William DEAN) I felt there was no need to keep the Photo Request active. But in that wording, it sounds like a FindAGrave staff person is going to review the request and make the final decision, and if anyone had read the problem description I submitted and then checked the memorial for William Thomas PRICE, they should have seen that it did not actually already have a grave photo - so perhaps these things are not actually reviewed by anyone, or maybe they don't check before they approve them? Anyway, I appreciate your letting me know about the mistake and resubmitting your request.

I must apologize. I am working on getting photos for all the Riverdale Photo Requests or otherwise getting them resolved. You are correct, there is no photo posted for William PRICE. I obviously clicked on the wrong entry - the one on the list that already has a photo is William DEAN. (I believe before that one was eliminated and you added it back, they were right next to each other on the list, and their middle names are not included the way they're listed on those entries.) Again, I am so sorry that I submitted the information for the wrong memorial. I intend to get over to Riverdale before the end of the week to photograph the graves. Thank you for letting me know about the error. - John

HI, THank you so much for the correct cemetery. I have her in the correct place now.
|Mary Brown||Wm J Findley/Oak Park Cemetery|
Wm Findley is a rather distant cousin whose grave I discovered several years ago when visiting the grave of my maternal grandfather there in the Oak Park Cemetery. And since I see that you manage the find a grave memorial for Wm J, I was hoping you might be able to help clear up a bit of confusion concerning his burial plot.
There is a Mary H Lancaster (1890-1973) also buried in the same plot. Would you happen to have any idea how she & Wm J Findley and/or his wife Christian Charity are connected? I've yet to find any connection between any of them during my own family research, & I can't help but be curious.
Any assistance you might be able to offer will be most gratefully appreciated.

We were happy to make the photo for you. The verse at the bottom of the stone reads: “Though Lost To Sight To Memory Dear". It is hard to read in the photo. I have submitted a request to have it noted on Mr. Mosley's Memorial.

Thank you for adding my Aunt Mac memorial to find a grave> (Wauthane Mc Lendon Gurley)

Thanks for responding and clearing up the confusion. My goal is accurate data as well as trying to tie the family together for genealogical and historical records. Since all of these records are direct relatives of my father, my main objective again is accurate data.
No idea what the L stands for. It was transcribed as written
