HA!! Nope, just plain ol' white flour. Cheaper the better as it all works the same. I never go to a cemetery without it. Sometimes I can get the wheat flour to work on white stones but I have discovered that a cheap bag of potting soil works better. It doesn't look like much in person but once you look at the picture on your computer it is really good. The first time I actually used the white flour, I just stood back in amazement! Old stones in our family cemetery that no one could read anymore and SURPRISE! There was every letter and sign on the stone!

Hi,
I've had great success using plain ol' white flour. You grab a handful and just start wiping the words. It usually works like magic. The next rain cleans it off the stones so it doesn't do any damage. I believe there is a video of it on youtube called "how to read an unreadable headstone" or something like that. Let me know if it helps you.

Thanks so much!
Janice

Hi,
Thanks for the picture. Were you able to read anything on the stone? It is very difficult to read the writing in the picture.

Jack Goldfine
Suzanne - Yes, Jacob Goldfine is the same person as Jack, so you can upload the photo to Jack's memorial page. I'll send a request to the memorial owner to update their information (or transfer ownership to myself). Strange that the memorial owner put down the name Jack, but the stone says Jacob!

Thanks very much for your help. Much appreciated! - Mark

Dear Suzanne,
I hope this finds you in great spirits. I'm a military researcher who is doing all the bios for the men from my county that gave their all during WWII. I see you have taken numerous grave marker photos here and was wondering, if you live close to the cemetery. I need seven (7) photos from there. Please let me know, if you can help me with this? Sincerely and In Your Service, Allen

I think I meant to ask if you were related to Gordon Herrick. I think you are managing his grave site. So, I was thinking you might be related. I don't think you are. Just think you are nice enought to manage their grave sites on this site. Thanks
