I have been out of the loop again because of health issues. My sincere apologies to all who have written & not received answers; I will get back to you all-I promise.|
My family research interests include Sanford, Wilson, McBride, Sproat, Greenleaf, Krauss, Reiff, Killinger, Cash, Long, Hacker,Dixon, Chambers, & Triplett. I also do research on my husband's family including Adams, Hale, Lewis, Roseborough, Richardson, & Hodgins. I also do research for my sister-in-law including Brown, Beam, Wilkins, Hair, Gantt, Frye & Reep (all in North Carolina). This can all also be found on Ancestry.com in my tree "June's Roots & Branches".
I have been interested in cemeteries since I was a child. Dad used to take us on a Sunday drive about 75 miles out to the old family home site in what was once the town of Covello in Columbia Co., WA and to the old family cemetery a few miles from there (Turner Berry Cemetery. I enjoyed looking at the family headstones & learning from my Dad what he knew of their lives. I also looked at all the other headstones, wondered about their story & felt sad when I saw the many headstones for the little children. By the way, I remember many more headstones in this cemetery than are there now; some were apparently plowed under to become part of the surrounding wheat fielld,
This all led to my current project of documenting all of the old forgotten cemeteries in Columbia Co., Washington where I have a lot of family roots. I started out with just some of the forgotten children's graves; this was so rewarding that my project soon grew to include all the forgotten graves. My research is documented on FAG & also on Ancestry.com in my multiple trees with names such as McCall in Turner Cemetery in Columbia Co., Washington. My goals are documentation, helping others with their research & also to contact persons interested in helping to maintain and/or restore these old cemeteries. So much has already been lost & it is such a shame. This is a work in progress which is also beginning to branch out to Walla Walla Co., Washington as I also have many family roots there. I am not physically able to walk/photograph cemeteries so this is my way of contributing to FAG.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or research help - or if you just want to say "Hello"!

You're very welcome June.. if you would like me to transfer them, just click edit and then click send other correction...just send me your #.. it's the easiest way, that way it's on the correct memorial.. and I have your number.
|Bill M||RE: J M Giles headstone photo|
Thanks for the input on 38046007. I deleted the photo on that memorial and 380046006 already has photo that seems to be correct so I left that memorial alone.
When you posted headstone photo to memorial 38046007 name on memorial was J M Giles with birth & death dates unknown. Name has since then been updated to Josie M Giles with birth date 13 DEC 1886, death date 14 Dec 1864. I believe your photo actually belongs on memorial 380046006 James Madison Giles birth date 14 Mar 1831, death 25 Dec 1913. James Madison's wife is Susan - with J M on your photo.

Very interested in Anne Greenleaf who turns up in my research and then disappears.
|Joy Steele||RE: Esther Walker Scroggs|
You are welcome. I love to help.
I just updated my profile and added my husband's maternal side, mostly from Massachusetts until the late 1700's to south Georgia in the early 1800's.
Would love to hear more about your family connections on this end of the country.
|June Ford||jeremiah b willson|
Do you have any idea how or if your Jeremiah might be related to my husband's g-g grandfather Jeremiah Willson who was b abt 1819 VA or TN & m. Elizabeth Richardson in Monroe Co IND in 1843? Jerry & Elizabeth lived in Mahaska Co IA 1850, next to Moses who looks like Jerry's father. Berry , William & Jasper were names used by our branch of Willsons, later spelled Wilson.
|Terri Snyder Satchwell||Alta Clementine Cusker|
Thank you for creating a memorial for Clementine in the correct cemetery. The online records for Valley Chapel Cemetery list her buried as Mrs. James Cusker. I can't seem to find her in the Washington death records though. Her daughter Georgia or Georgeann was my Great Aunt who was married to Andrew J (A. J.) Snyder the brother of my Grandfather, John Wesley Snyder. May I use Clementine's photo in my family tree on Ancestry.com?
