Even as a very young child, I loved walking around the cemeteries with my grandma, Bertha Tolbert (133873460) She would show me our family's graves, and tell a little story of each one, as we walked them. Now I take my camera.|
I am not sitting at home with a book of obituaries, or cruising the funeral home and newspaper obituaries just to build up my numbers. (Where's the reward in that?) Other than my family, and friends, most of the memorials I create are from walking the cemeteries with my camera. I do it so someone can find their departed, and I can transfer them. I will always transfer memorials.
A sincere, heartfelt, thank you to all who visit my "loved ones" I appreciate it very much.
Among others, these are three scripture that I try to live by:
~ Ephesians 4:32 ~
"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
~ James 4:17 ~
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth not, to him it is sin."
~ Matthew 25:40 ~
"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Be kind one to another, for what we do to one another, we do to Jesus.
The Lord's Blessings to all

The birthdates engraved on their headstones are incorrect. They are a part of my Myers family and I have done extensive research on them. The numbers were transposed from 1879 to 1897. I have added record references proving this and a note explaining the error.

Thank you very much for the very kind reply.
I have alot of family from Belmont Co, Ohio and I'm working to make sure they are connected on find-a-grave.
I can't express how thankful I am to come across someone like you; some of those on find-a-grave make it like an act of congress to just get info added to a memorial.

Thank you so much for adding this photo. This cemetery seems to be a very difficult one to search and I appreciate all of your time and effort. Candace

Thanks SO much for this! What a nice surprise!
Happy New Year!

Thanks for taking this photo, even if it's difficult to read. Some of the granite stones are like that, unless the sun hits it just right.
Good resolution, so I can enlarge it.
I've only been to the Weeks Cemetery once and it was pretty cold that day.
I've been working on the Methodist Cemetery, behind the St Clairsville courthouse. I'll briefly be in St C on Saturday, so I might be able to take a few more photos. About half the memorials have a photo. (the easy ones, lol)
Thanks again. It was nice of you to do this.

No problem -- I have no relationship to him. If I've got others of your line you'd like, let me know.
Happy New Year!

I appreciate what you do. And hope you will honor my request to do more.
The name referenced above (Memorial #104967395) is on the 'dark' side of the stelae, which has 4 sides and is unreadable. It would be of great service to me if additional photos could be taken of that side and if there is information on the other sides, I'd like that too. Perhaps a closer photo with flash would work if it is in the shade the next time you visit.
