| Bio and Links | I have always believed that one measure of our society is how we honor and remember our dead. After all, our country and indeed the world has been built on the contributions of those that have come before us. So it is important to remember our past and those that lived in it.
I enjoy reading about how others lived their lives--the cares and joys,the trials and the triumphs. So I read EVERY memorial that I flower and token. Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I cry. And thanks so much to all for the beautiful tokens left for my family.
If you have time, please visit a few people that have touched me along the way. Those include:
Pedro Zamora: I was a neighbor of the Zamora family in the 80s and 90s. Pedro became famous for his activism for AIDS education and prevention. Before he became well known and before illness and tragedy would touch his young life, he was just the sweet neighbor boy to me.
Linny Pacillo: She was my local hero. She was an activist against the parking authority here in town (Anchorage). She was a member of the "parking fairies" who along with her sister Susan would go downtown and plug parking meters to prevent the overzealous parking authority from ticketing cars with expired meters. The duo would dress in pink tutus with wings on their missions downtown. I have been personally saved from tickets because of their efforts. Linny was someone who made our city better because of her efforts.
