The following memorial is for a dear child abandoned and could use TLC from visitors : Baby Girl April|
I've been working on my family's "tree" for several years now and since most of my family burials are nowhere near where I live, Find A Grave has been very helpful to me. I was born in Arkansas but ended up in Texas before I was one! Family names I am working on are: Black, Thompson, Alford, Elmore, Martin, Bolls, Jester, and others. Many of these folks are in Arkansas with some being in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana (and the occasional drifter out to CA!)
As for the photos I have taken and added to memorials, you are welcome to use them for your personal family trees, on Ancestry.com, etc. No need to ask me first.
And a BIG thank you to all the wonderful volunteers out there who claim my photo requests, inform me of problems and generally just help the whole FindaGrave community!

You're welcome. Sometimes the type of stone it is makes it very hard to get a picture to turn out clearly unless you actually click on the picture to see a close-up of it. Hopefully it helped. Jacque G.
Sending email with Marjorie's obituary link :)

Mary, I just now saw the nice note you left for me after Find A Grave notified me somebody else had posted a note for me. At any rate, I'm amazed at your dedication to comb through 6,000 records at the Kilgore City Cemetery, checking every one for accuracy. Though I kick myself every time someone points out an error in a memorial I have created because my goal is absolute accuracy, I am always grateful for corrections.
Keep up the good work. As I follow behind many early Find a Grave contributors, I've often wondered how the effort would be sustained once cemeteries are 60% - 70% indexed. It is not so much fun to spend a lot of time and effort only to find your work is duplicate effort. I say this in admiration of your work to double check everything for accuracy. I only hope that recent changes to Find A Grave editing make your corrections stick. One concern I've had over the years is inactive or deceased contributors. Several people here in East Texas knocked out big numbers of submissions early on, but were probably working from transcriptions, not digital photos. I recognize names of several after encountering large percentages of errors, some with more than half their memorials containing major errors in name spelling or incorrect dates.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

You are welcome. There was a broken water pipe beside their plot so it was tricky to get a picture. I notified the groundskeeper and he has repaired the pipe.

You're welcome. I still have several others to look for but the weather is really starting to get hot and humid here. Hopefully will try again on Sat. morn. Jacque G.

Glad to help!

My friend and I photographed the entire cemetery ( Union Grove), as well of most of the cemeteries in Upshur County. Sorry, I don't have any information on Mex. Best of luck on your search.
