Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am 70 years old. At the age of 52 I became interested in family history because of my husband's daughter. She wanted some information about her family. Others had promised information but did not come thru with it so I told her I would help her. It was so much fun I have continued with my research. I am always happy to help in the search and photo taking of a monument. I have been helped many times in the past and hope to help others in the future. One outstanding person in Camden, Missouri, Janice Pennington, who is now my dear friend, is the main reason I became interested in Find A Grave. Through Genforum I requested one picture of a monument in a cemetery fairly close to her area. She saw my request, contacted me and told me she would get the picture for me. Not only did she get that picture but she sent me over 50 other pictures of my ancestors graves in the same cemetery. Because of her and also her husband Larry, I wanted to help others find graves of their families and take photo's of the headstones. That is when I found Find A Grave. Talk about getting your prayers answered, I did. Another lady, Roberta, who lives in Indiana, went to Kentucky and took over 70 pictures for me at 4 different cemeteries of my ancestors graves. The gratitude I have for these people makes me want to grab every photo request I can to help others.
If I can make a correction or add information to a memorial page, please let me know. If you would like to have one of my memorial pages transferred to you, (if they are not a member of my family), please let me know and I will do it. Please go thru the proper channels for any changes or transfers of a memorial page.

You're welcome.

Even though there may be numerous photo requests at ANC, there are never any open requests for more than a couple of minutes at most. There is a very rapid turnaround there.

Don't worry, venting is allowed! I agree! Actually I love the puzzles, some days. But I just enjoy doing this all the way around. I hated history. I wish they taught it like this. This site has made me educate myself and has given us something to enjoy together! You take wonderful care Joyce! You have been a pleasant breath of fresh air to chat with. I will keep in touch. And please do back. You are a kind hard working lady! Keep up the work. And if you ever need help, let me know. We will go approximately 30 miles out of are range. Heck we've gone 50 with big lists! I will go back and get better photos if you ever need. Talk soon!

RE: Earl Kirkpatrick
I'm positive he was a child. Possibly only alive for a very short time or stillborn. The stone is next to he's fathers. And no one else is next to them. At least no stones. I tried to find his mother with no luck. I can't make out Alex's DC where it states his marriage status. I'm guessing she died after Alex and there was no one, or no money to give her a stone. I found this alot.
I must say my husband and I have learned a lot walking these cemeteries in the past two years. We only started photographing and getting requests since around fall of 2013. So we had to learn how some are buried. Lots of research! But we swore to do it right. So I always try to get all the info as I can. I actually hate seeing empty memorials. So I do my best to fill in blanks. I have a handy dandy notebook that I try to keep names in, so If I ever come across the name again I might be able to link them some how. We haven't thrown a single notebook or piece of paper away from requests or the entering info! The stack is getting pretty big.. Oh well! Anyways, I will always keep them on my list!

RE: Earl Kirkpatrick
Well I only found Mary Kirkpatrick and her child William. I sent you edits on all I found. I was trying to see if I could find anything out about Ollie the wife of Alex, or J.C./Josiah husband of Mary. I found that Mary Cornelison is listed in the Portraits of Ray County, but of course I can only see she is listed. She is on page 438,439. Well if I do find anything out for you I will gladly pass it along. Sorry I couldn't give you any dates on Earl. And yes it was 65 today! Not bad at all! Especially for Missouri in January. Hope to find more for you. Have a great week!

RE: John Kirkpatrick
I might head out there tomorrow. I see he is buried in section 2 according to Sam Gowing. I will go up and get that stone and any others by him. I will get a reading for you. I saw Mark Frazier photographed the stone. It almost looks like there are no dates. But I will confirm that. I will do my best for you. And yes I have made sure I have everything I can of stories and just life lessons I can get from all that are still here. I wish I knew better when I was a teenager. My great grandma was orphaned at 9 , pregnant at 15, and lived through the depression. The stories that I wish I knew... But I take full enjoyment in listening to all the stories. I will do my best for you!

Well we are photographing every stone. So far sections; 9,8,7,6,5,& 3 are all entered. We still need to finish 4,2 & 1. Section 4 is large. 1 is tiny. Then 2 is lots of very old, worn and partially destroyed. I should have gone out today and started section 4. I just decided to blow the day away in St Joseph with my aunts! Anyways, give it a few months and it will be done for now. I know I am crazy to do this cemetery, but it has been worth it. The terrain is steep, but I'm still kinda young. I will try to tell you when all is done. As long as I can remember too. Please look through the names I own. I have had to make several memorials that had not been entered. I might have a family member of yours? Anyways, I will try to remember to let you know. I will add you to my friend list.
