REGARDLESS OF DATE STARTED SHOWN HERE: I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS IN IOWA FOR FINDAGRAVE, A GLITCH CHANGED THE DATE. |
PLEASE DON'T ASSUME MINE ARE NEWER!
**My Family Tree is a little larger than most for a lot of reasons, the main one dawned on me
Family and friends were always welcomed to Thanksgiving and Christmas when my Mothers' Mother was around. We never turned anyone away, if you had a friend with nowhere to go, they became family. I research my family and sometimes find it hard to stop. I never believed in just 1st generations, because I was raised by loving 2nd and 3rd Aunts and Uncles, whose children were MY Cousins. I truly believe we are one big family and if you look deep enough into your family tree you will find you connections to your neighbor down the road, across the country and around the world.
I started with Findagrave photographing in 2007,
I started photographing the Braddyville Cemetery in Page County Iowa.
Sadly I can't get out to the cemeteries anymore to photograph anymore. I am so grateful to the other volunteers out there that so diligently photograph and save our past for everyone out there. I try now to connect the dots between the generations, sometimes mine and sometimes yours.
I try to double and triple check my facts, if I made a mistake please send me a correction under edit and I will gladly fix it, or if you would like a memorial transferred also please use the edit to ask for the transfer.
My philosophy is I put these here for historical value, and for you the descendants of these families. You may or may not have more information of them than I do, as long as you go through the edit, suggest a correction and ask me with a explanation of how you are related I will likely consider the transfer. EXCEPTION IS MY DIRECT LINE OR FAMILY MEMBERS.
WHEN I BECOME A FALLEN GRAVER, I ASK THAT SHARON LEWIS BECOMES THE MANAGER OF ALL MY MEMORIALS THAT SHE DECIDES TO MANAGE. THOSE SHE DOES NOT DESIRE TO KEEP CAN BE HANDED OVER TO THOSE THAT ARE ON MY FRIENDS LIST OR RETURN TO FINDAGRAVE MANAGEMENT.
I love doing the literal digging for FINDAGRAVE.
I HOPE WHAT I FOUND SPARKED SOMETHING IN US ALL TO CONTINUE TO PRESERVE THE PAST, IT'S A LITTLE STEP WE ALL CAN DO.
NOW WITH A NEW FOUND COUSIN, WE BOTH HUNT DOWN OUR ANCESTORS. WE EACH BRING SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO THE EQUATION; NEW EYES ON THINGS THE OTHER MIGHT MISS. WE BOTH LOVE FINDAGRAVE, CONNECTING LOST FAMILY MEMBERS IN FINDAGRAVE AND MEMORIAL MANAGEMENT IS MY PASSION AND FINDING THE PEOPLE THAT NO ONE ELSE CAN FIND.
THANK YOU, FINDAGRAVE AND ALL THE VOLUNTEERS!
WE WOULD ALL BE LOST WITHOUT YOU!

Thank you for posting a picture of Margaret Long Reid's memorial. I do have to ask, there is no headstone or engraving on the memorial? Just a large marble slab with the name Reid at the bottom?
And if you would like to transfer Margaret to me I would love to manage her memorial as she is family to me.
Thank you again for posting a picture of her memorial for me.

I had break through on a family line and found you have the George Hart I have been looking for. I sent edit suggestions and links through Find A Grave. Thanks for all you do, Judy Goodson

Hello Sandy! Hey Thanks for all of the information and leads. I will let the family who wanted the infant knox pictures know too!

If you do have time, I received an email from the folks who are looking for a photo of the other Knox infant that is listed. And then, I took a photo (thinking it might be the one) of a stone that says "Infant Children of J.M. and S.J. Knox" and that one isn't on the list. Not unusual....I have already probably found 2 dozen stones not listed but in various cemeteries around the area!
Thanks for you hard work!

I am in small town Iowa but not College Springs. His story just touched my heart. And I feel so heartbroken for his family.
I will definitely transfer the memorial if anyone would like to manage it. I do think that family should manage them when at all possible.
God's Blessings to you.

Forgot to say, I did find the stone for Jennie M Knox infant daughter, but there is already a picture on the site for her

I could not find either Ross or "infant" Knox in Maple Grove Cemetery. A LOT of the older graves are not legible. I did however find a stone for "Infant Children of J.M. and S.J. Knox" but there don't seem to be any Knox's with those intials on maple grove list. If you have any further info, I could go back and look one day.
Thanks. - lisab Find A Grave

|Shannon D.||RE: Malaki|
I am so sorry for your families loss. Malaki's story touched so many, myself included, and my heart breaks for you and his family. Seeing his picture, he reminds me of my nieces, nephews and cousins in his cowboy hat. I will happily transfer his memorial to you if you would like it. I do believe that memorials belong with their family when possible.
Also, thank you for all of your contributions to preserving history and genealogy for future generations. I will never forget the first time I saw a picture or a name of someone "new" in my tree. It is magical and wouldn't be possible without all the volunteers.
Thank you so much for the Berry transfers. It is very much appreciated and I will take proper care of them. Have a wonderful day.

We have many case family stones here in Glenwood and there is also a case cemetery on the other side of town. Check out this site for Bradford, Chemung and Tioga (PA) historical information http://www.joycetice.com/jmtindex.htm
