His first bill he submitted, sponsored, and was passed was the Virginia Cemetery Bill, which forbade any destruction and/or plowing them under of them!
He alone saved the Wild Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris) from being becoming extinct when he was Chairman of Virginian Wildlife. Yes this is the Bird which the Country TURKEY attained that name. Tom, hen , and poults all.
Benjamin Franklin wanted this as our national Bird.

for a Happy Thanksgiving.
|Amanda Bishop Burns||Maile|
Hey there, I can share my tree on ancestry.com please give me your email address. My Maile family is very illusive. I can trace my ancestors John and William Maile originally it was "Male" they were kicked out of England and sentenced to the states for stealing the King's sheep. First sent to Annapolis they somehow ended up in Chesterfield and Petersburg, Virginia. A few Maile families were in Petersburg but ended up moving away. Bryant is quite a few of my family members names on the Mayes side of my family my Grandfather had it for his middle name and I have passed it to my youngest son. I would love to share information with you and Thanks for the information. I added you as a friend on here as well. thanks for all you do!

|Karl Voigt||RE: Re: Archibald Campbell|
Thanks for revising your note on Archibald Campbell's F-A-G page.
There was another Archibald Campbell, 4th Earl etc, who was prominent on the British side and served in New Jersey, Virginia, New England... pretty much all over.... but I haven't established a connect with "my" Pawling, NY Archibald. Best info I have is that he came to America with his brother Duncan - also an officer.... abt 1756 to fight the French & Indian War as a member of the 42nd Highland Regiment of Infantry.
He stayed on as a semi-retired farmer near Pawling until the Revolution. He didn't last much longer.... by early 1777 he'd been killed near White Plains so he wouldn't have been around for subsequent campaigns.
Anyway, all fascinating stuff.
|Lorraine Esther Hamann Chandler||Bowles|
I can not find the Bowles in Virginia. I know mine were in Cane Ridge,KY.but have no knowledge of the parents of my 2nd great-grandfather Stephen Decatur Bowles. All records were destroyed in Bourbon Co. civil war were burned.Stephen Decator Bowles left KY for Missouri after 1850. Mrs. Bowles is on the 1880 census with 2 children then. I believe Stephen was looking for gold then.I found him on the census 1850 Yuba,CA. in a mining camp.
All for now. Wish I could help.
My tree ancestry, is Chandler-Hamann. You can copy anything you want to.

You're welcome. Wish there was more we had to show for those Public Graves, but alas not.
We hadn't heard about the purchase of Find a Grave, but glad to hear them say that they plan to keep it free.

|Earl Abbe||Strange Flowering|
I am bemused by the flower you posted on Margaret Neill's memorial (#21042658) in May. Your token contains an O.E.S. emblem, two noble sentiments, a political statement by MG Benjamin Butler, and a geographical question relating to Middlesex County, Massachusetts.
Was Margaret a member of the Eastern Star? What do the political statement and the geographical question have to do with her? Please explain.
