Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been photographing gravestones for a few years. If I see a stone that interests me, I will stop and take a picture, no matter who it is. I like the natural play of light on a stone and try to find the light when it is at its best. I have 100's of photos, but just share the ones online that I find most connected to me, or perhaps that no one else has taken, or I think shows a better picture. I enjoy finding my own relatives and also like to share if I have found someone else's relatives. Please ask if you would like me to transfer a stone. If it isn't my relative, I would be glad to. Names I am interested in for myself include Stearns, Stone, Russell, Usher, Cleveland, Towne, Clapp, Clark, Morgan, Denison, Palmer, Hinsdale, Howland, Gorham, Cobleigh, Shaw, Rowan, Lytle, Emmons, Beard, Hall, Warnock, Ferrell, Barton, and Founds. Also I am following a Brookins line to try to establish a new Revolutionary War connection for my Mother, so please write if you know of Ithamar Brookins of New Marlboro, Mass and Poultney, Vt.

Hello Barbara,

Some online family trees claim that Ithamar died in Rensselaer Co., NY, but I have no information that supports or refutes that claim.

If Ithamar died in East Poultney, there is no death record for him. And no gravestone was ever recorded for him there.

Judith has both a death record and a card that noted her gravestone (created when the Town Clerk surveyed the cemeteries of Poultney in June 1921). Ithamar does not. The DAR did not record a stone for him in the 1950's and neither did Margaret Jenks in the 1980's.

RE: Ebenezer Russell 75891492
Hi Barbara,

Technically, I made the mistake since the other Ebenezer memorial existed before I made mine. Here is what should be done:

1) I delete my memorial [done]
2) I make the suggestion to the owner of the older memorial to link to Ebenezer's parents' memorials via the "edit" tab. [done]
3) You should link Susanna Russell Smith to the older memorial for Ebenezer.

Assuming the older memorial's owner links their Ebenezer to the parents then the generational linkage will be preserved. I don't see why they wouldn't.

As a safety you could note Susanna Russell Smith's grandparents' memorials (50647569 & 50647627) in her Bio section.

Take care and thanks for catching my mistake. I hate when I do that.

Elizabeth Tilley Howland

I just found your photo of Elizabethʻs grave stone on her find a grave memorial page. Thank you so much for posting it! She is my 9X great grandmother... may I use your photo on my private family tree? I always give credit to the photographers who generously allow me to use their photos... thank you very much.

Hi, Barbara. I sent an edit to your page on Elizabeth Goodridge, linking her to her father Ebenezer Goodrich (1749-1824). I am aware of the difference in ast names. That deviation in the spelling of the name "Goodridge" has appeared several times within the Goodridge family from Fitchburg, MA.
