I'm a single Mom of 2 wonderful boys, and a husband who is gone but not forgotten, James Lloyd Jordan Jr. I followed in my mother's mother's footsteps and fell in love with researching my family. I have found many cousins through ancestry.com. And 1 family though this website, who I consider not only a cousin but a best friend.|

No, I am not related. I don't know which one is right or which one is wrong. Sometimes I just get caught up in it like a video game of "find the kids", "find the spouse", "find the parents".
Sometimes it is a far off branch on my main tree that I am linking on and linking up, but sometimes it is just someone who had 13 kids and it is a challenge to find them. Or I take grave pics and link them to their spouses and parents and get hooked into something there.
Do what you think is right. I have no idea which one of you has the right cemetery.donna

I did not mean to sound ugly. I am glad you found your family, and believe that anyone who is connected to a memorial should be able to manage it as long as a closer family member does not want them. I guess that is why they made the rules of "immediate family." I have been told that you can't keep transferring memorials. The memorial # I was talking about as a duplicate is 54904719. It has her as Lyndell Denson.
If I have any of your family please feel free to ask for a transfer. I have been working on different cemeteries lately as a cemetery survey, so I have been adding memorials to different cemeteries around that I am not necessarily connected to.

I was out at the cemetery to take photos of the Calhoun graves for you but they were covered in lichen and unreadable so i will need to clean them first before i take photos. Hopefully weather permitting i will have them this coming weekend

By find a grave standards your memorial is a duplicate in this cemetery. I did post a picture. You might ask David for a transfer of his memorial to you.

You have declined my suggested edit to move the name Hays from the maiden name field to the last name field. Since men don't have maiden names I'm not sure why you declined. Would you please take another look and reconsider my edit. Thank you.

|bonehead||John Cotton's father|
You've asked that I setup a link to George P Plowman as the father of John Cotton. I've heard this also but I did not setup that link because to me it didn't seem correct. John Cotton's mother Sarah (born 1832) was about 14 younger than George P. (born 1808). Also John's brother Braxton's death record states his father was George H Plowman. George P had a son George H (born 1850) but he would have been too young to father John (born 1853) and he was only about 16 when Braxton was born.
I've read that George P had another son Albert. Albert was born in 1838. He was a lawyer in Talladega but for a time he had a sawmill near Riddle's Mill where he lived because he had arthritis and the water there was helpful. Albert and his wife married in 1866 and lived at Riddle's Mill for 2 years. I've also seen a homestead record for Sarah Cotton. Her land was within walking distance of Riddle's Mill. I would think that Albert's father George P would have visited his son at Riddle's mill from time to time and may have met Sarah Cotton and fathered some of her children but that was after the civil war and at least 16 years after John Cotton was born. It may also be that Sarah just said that her children were fathered by one of the well to do Plowmans from Talladega. To me I have too many questions to setup the link you've asked for. If you have additional info please let me know.
