A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.
Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

I helps a great deal, thanks. The Wright lines have been worked up by my grandfather and I have the information in storage. He wanted to make sure that his descendants had the information in case they wanted it. That is why I am keeping it safe per his wishes.

Hi Nancy,

I didn't realize that the Coffman badge was a way to keep your Coffman family lines straight. I have his paternal and maternal lines going back to the early 1800s and I don't remember any Coffman names in them. Can you tell me where they are so I can put them in?

You may have "given" his page to me, yes, but as his granddaughter, I have much closer familial ties than you do. It is more appropriate that his page be managed by a blood relative if possible anyway. Did you ever meet him? When and where?

Hi Nancy,

Would you please remove the note that depicts the a tree with the name "Coffman" above it from this memorial page? The note was added in 2011. Its purpose is confusing to his descendants. We appreciate the nice thoughts, but we do not want anyone to mistakenly think that he was a member of the Coffman family in any way, shape or form when he was not.

Nancy, I was wondering if in your research you have ever ran across a H. R. or "Hut" White? He is my brick wall that I have been trying to find for umpteen years.

I am a Texan too-born in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas-with family all over Texas-some of my family arrived in Texas in 1821 from Missouri.

I've added his parents' names. When you find their memorials, let me know and I'll link them.

It was my pleasure to sponsor her memorial. Gussie was my aunt.

I have found an article of her death, and the only way to save it is in a photo. The Laurel Chronicle, Jan. 21, 1910. Would you like for me to post it or send it to you?
