Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Mississippi Delta. I have been tracing my family history for many years. Some of the families I am researaching (all with southern roots) are: Bennett, James, Skelton, Newton, Howard, Hays, Garner, Little, Westbrook, Warrick, Long, Arbuckle, Blaylock, and Sullivan. If you have relatives in Carroll County and/or Montgomery County, Mississippi in the 1800s, chances are good that our lines cross.

Thanks! Will enjoy reviewing all of it. I'd be glad to share mine too. What is your ancestry.com name?

Hi Portia,
I just noticed that Beatrice Bennett is your mom. What a lovely lady she is! She spends so much time visiting veterans, etc., including my father. Just wanted to say hi and wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

Wade family
Than you for the pictures you took of the William & Sarah Wade family in the Old Cleveland Cem..... it has helped me add important info to their leafs and find some other records on them. I am researching the Lagrone family for my niece's husband and just cannot find what happened to his 2nd Great Grandmother Lula Musselwhite Lagrone Wade... or for that matter Clemma (seen other spellings, etc.) D Wade also a son of William & Sarah.
Thanks for your work.

Solomon Bennett 1786-1852
I have evidence to indicate Solomon was son of William Bennett 1750 SC - 1820 Lincoln Co TN and Lydia Unk 1758 SC - 30 Apr 1822 Lincoln Co TN.
Was brother to my Elisha Bennett 1799 GA - 1857 Giles Co TN paternal 4th ggrandfather.
Whereas Elisha was too young to server in the War of 1812 all other older brother did & were compensated with land in new territory in MS.

RE: Lehrton
I have been wanting to do something for the cemetery and this feels like a start.
What is normally done on a double grave when you know one spouse is still alive. I have not been adding those to the database but notice that some are added. Does find a grave have a policy on this? I have not been able to find anything.

Thanks

Lehrton Cemetery
Portia,
I notice you have done a lot of work on documenting the Lehrton Cemetery. I have picked up and am working on it now too. (Just don't want to step on any toes). I have a lot of relatives there and when the time comes will be there myself. Would love any input -- tips you might have.
