Special interest in German, Polish, Jewish, Italian history; economic history; music. My ambition: To correct some prejudices (see my contributions e.g. about Robespierre); to emphasise the work of great liberals and humanists. When you tell people about Findagrave, they might consider it a weird hobby, a strange interest in macabre things. Not at all. One must explain that editing in Findagrave in the end is nothing else than writing a book about cemeteries - like those books you find in shops, edited by professional photographers and historians. Writing biographies here is nothing else than contributing to Wikipedia with what you consider true and interesting, only that here others cannot intervene (As I just explained).

So : Findagrave is a great source, and I too want to tell you some stories about history. To share with you tales of war and peace, of love and hate, of important and banal, which might give you pause. From the Gurkhas' grave I discovered in Krakow (of all places) to the ancestors of Karl Marx; from Luther's wife who, in death, was separated from her husband, to the tragedy of Hermann Stern or Theodor Hirsch - all puzzle stones which give you an impression about our history. Why was Robespierre´s father buried in Munich ? and did the Scheiblers, the Poznanskis really build dark satanic mills in Lodz ?

From trivia to understanding more about historic background. So viele "Fragen eines lesenden Arbeiters. So viele Berichte".
