As per FindAGrave rules:|
"Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree."
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
[NOTE: A DIRECT relative in NOT your cousin, uncle or aunt, niece or nephew, etc.]
"The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it."
I have hundreds of relatives that I have found here on Find A Grave but I do not have "ownership" of their memorial pages. Find A Grave has created a wonderful tool, the "Virtual Cemetery", to help us to keep track of these relatives that have been added by our good volunteers. I have created Virtual Cemeteries for all branches of my family and find this to be a very efficient way to keep track of my family. Please use this tool instead of asking for transfers that fall outside the bounds of Find A Grave policy.

It took 2 1/2 months, but all the duplicates you had at this cemetery (100+) have now been merged into earlier memorials. Just in case you are wondering where they went!

Thank you, JoAnn, for your thorough documentation of the Gregory family plot.
You have an enormous amount of duplicate memorials here
I have sent duplicate notices the past couple weeks and am only up to K. It would be great if you could go through and remove your duplicates.

You state that Mary Susan Dozier "may" have been married to a Steward Smith. She was. Mary & Robert Stuart Smith are my great, great grandparents and I have documentation to show his death and the names/ages of their children. If you'd like more information, please just message me and I'll be more than happy to share. Thanks!

You posted my Great, great grandmother's (Francis Miller) grave on find a grave site and I thank you for it. (plot: beside church - row 11) My sister tells me that a Jesse Miller is burred near there. Hopefully this would be my Great, great grandfather. He was born abt: 1825 and I believe he passed abt: 1886. Any help you could give me, I sure would appreciate it.

|Frank Whitehurst||Looking for Grandfather|
I am looking for my grandfather, John Napoleon Bonaparte Whitehurst who died in the 1940's in Virginia Beach. I have some relatives buried at Charity Neck Church but am unable to find him. I just remember him when I was a young boy. Do you have any suggestions as to how to find his grave? He may or may not be at Charity Church.
|Sherry W||John M Cherry aka John Wallace Cherrt|
hi. I am researching John M Cherry who died after 1930 But before 1938. All of the Census and city directory records list him as John M Cherry married to Lillie May McClanahan. I noticed you posted a tombstone for John W Cherry and mention an obit saying his name is John Wallace Cherry. Do you have a copy of this? I am just confused by the M vs. W or Wallace middle name and want to be sure this it the correct John Cherry for my family. Here is the memorial info I saw online

|Sandra Black Duffy||Dennis Ewell's family|
Hi JoAnn - I've been trying to sort out the descendents of Dennis Ewell of Princess Anne County. You have noted that a lot of his children are with his wife Elizabeth Keeling; however she was born about 1806 and the children were born as late as 1880. I think that he was married to Delia (Milly) Creamer in the 1870 census and somebody else by 1880. Do you have any other information?
