|Jane Arnold||More children of Joachim (son of Fred and Sophia) and Christina Weiskirch|
You had listed several of Joachim and Christina Weiskirch's children and I wanted to add to that, since there were 10 in all, as you had written...
Ada - b. 12 Sep 1872 d.12 Jun 1944
John C. - b. 29 Nove 1873 d. Jan 1963
*Frank Henry - b. 1875 d. 1935 (ptrl 2nd Grt Grndf)
Ernst/Ernest J. - b.1882 d.1958
Louis Carl Ernst - b.20 Aug 1885 d. 10 Feb 1961
William - 10 Sep 1887 d.?
You may already have this info elsewhere; I just hadn't see it up on the gravesite page and wanted to throw it out there.
|Jane Arnold||Weiskirch Line|
Thank you so much for contributing the info on the Weiskirch Line, particularly Fred Dehtlof Weiskirch, father of Joachim, my paternal 2nd great grandfather (his son Frank Henry was my grandmother's father.) Fred and Sophia aren't coming up on any MI census records. They lived in MI correct? I had a whole line of Weiskirchs from Dayton, Iowa, but apparently it was the wrong line! (So many Joachims and Johanns!!) Since viewing the Gravesite info, I've fixed the facts, but am baffled as to why their names aren't showing on Census records. Could Fred or Sophia have possibly changed their first names?
Thank you for your time!

May I ask why. The headstone is hers and her husbands. The only thing missing is her death date on the memorial.
|Sue Seeterlin Rice||Melvin Lloyd McArthur|
I just added the parents and brothers memorials to your Melvin L McArthur #32145650. He is a Vietnam KIA and his family has since died as well. I wanted to complete this family. Do you think the owner of the photo for the stone would care if I added it? Doesnt look as though she is still active.
Thanks for all your findagrave contributions.

To add to the mix when I was looking for Harry in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalkaska I found a marker for a "Mary L. Best wife of Eli best died June 10, 1886, Age 17yr's 4m's 2d's" I created a memorial and posted a photo of her marker, memorial #133205823. Also for two children that are right next to her. One of the markers is inscribed "Dau of E & M L Best" did Harry's father Eli live in that area? I also noted that His marker lists his wife as Mary L. 1869 to 1945. Could the Mary in Maple Grove be a first wife?

Should be gone.
Yes, he is my great uncle. As my dad's family lived in Nevada from about 1921 to 1943, I don't think my dad ever met this uncle. I'm going up to where Albert is buried, along with his wife, father, brother and his spouse. I only wish someone was still around to fill me in on some things from my grandma's family.

Diana - I was just at his page checking on some dates and noticed the flowers and message you left: "For Connie's father and Gae's grandfather." Albert was my paternal grandmother's older brother. My grandma and family were living in Nevada at the time of his death so I don't know if my dad even ever met him, plus he was only 4 when Albert died. I do remember my folks talking about going to a wedding...I think it was one of Albert's daughters and his wife, Ethel, came to my dad's funeral in 1970. I have never met anyone from Albert and Ethel's family and I have no way to try to make contact as I don't have his daughters' married names. I would appreciate any kind of hint you could possibly give me. I know passing info to strangers isn't wise and will understand if can't help me. I appreciate all the people like you who do so much for this site. I've done a couple of looks for people when I visited the U.P. 2 years ago. By the way, I do live in Michigan. Thanks.

Hello Diana, I'm so happy I could help out! I have found that Find A Grave has become a passion and I truly enjoy my days off wandering through the cemeteries. Both Crestwood and Evergreen and just miles from my home, with Evergreen literally being around the corner. I've found myself stopping at 7:30 am on my way home from work to add grave sites.
I'm fascinated with my family heritage as well. We're planning a trip to Arkansas to visit family and I'm looking forward to seeing more old family photos and visiting the local cemeteries!
