" He who careth not from whence he came, careth little whither he goeth" -- Daniel Webster

I have enjoyed searching my family's history since I was 14 years old. It has brought me to some wonderful places and I have met some great people along the way. My travels have taken me from New Hampshire, Maine, all of New England, to California (and in between), to Scotland, Wales and England. I take pride in verifying and documenting my findings. Some of my family names are: Purington / Purrington /Puddington (all variations of the name, Pray, Cheney, Chaney, Hoitt / Hoyt, Littlefield, Bradbury, Wentworth, Boston, Blaisdell, Webster, Dustin, Brewster, Sullivan and too many others to mention. Most of these names can be traced to Maine, anywhere from Hallowell, Brunswick, / Machias, Phippsburg, Harpswell, to Old Orchard / Wells, York to the Berwicks....also in New Hampshire, from Dover, Portsmouth, Barrington to the seacoast. From Massachusetts, Plymouth Rock, Boston, Haverhill. To England, Wales, Scotland, France, Denmark and back. Many of the stories are historical, from sea Captains, early Indian wars, Revolutionary War, war of 1812, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, to English and Danish royalty. Most stories however are of everyday life.

The memorials I have created are those that are directly related to me. In some cases going back 12 to 14 generations. Most however are within 5 generations.... I don't go around and snap photos of cemetery gates or entrances just for the fun of it......I do however thank those who travel and record old cemeteries, the ones that beat the brush and make it possible for folks to find their loved ones from years past.....Thank You!
This is fun and meant to be enjoyable, for I have always believed that one does not know where one is going, until we find out where is it that we have been....our ancestors tell us that, and more if we watch, learn, listen and explore. We are a part of those who came before us, and the reason they existed. Lets honor their memories, tell their stories, and in that way they are never forgotten. Now for something that I didn't think I would have to say, but here goes! Please DO NOT add, subtract or change any of my memorials without my permission. I don't do this to others and I don't want others doing this to me... ever again! Thank you!
