Lewis and I have been married 46 years and have three wonderful children and six amazing grandchildren. I just retired after 30 years as the executive assistant at the local hospital.|
When my mother-in-law died in 2003, her three children and spouses sorted through the things she treasured. Every time we came to an old picture, the others would place it in a box and say, "Give that one to Cathy. She'll make us a book." And I did! It was a labor of love, and I'm now hooked on genealogy.
When I Googled my maternal grandmother and found a picture of her headstone at Beaver Baptist Church Cemetery, I became addicted to Find A Grave. I feel like I'm preserving history, especially when I can add obituaries, pictures and family links.

|Angie Walters||Eugene Smith|
Could you please link my uncle Eugene Smith with his parents. 156019055 is his father and 54038010 is his mother. Thank you so much. I went to add uncle Gene and you had already put him on here but didn't have him linked to parents or siblings. Thank you once again for your help.
|George Seitz||Peter Puryear Wyles|
Having an interest in Randolph-Macon College and the Civil War, I came upon some small information regarding Peter Puryear Wyles. I posted it on your entry of him and noticed that there may be a connection, so thought you might have interest too. He attended R-MC from 1865 to 1868.

I received your message about Mr. Duffy's photo...no offense, but of the identical ones mine is the closest, clearest, head on shot. Have you asked if the other photo contributors would remove theirs? If they won't then I will, but I would appreciate your asking them first. Just let me know.

Thank you so much for taking a picture of his marker & posting it along with his death certificate and for posting the shared marker on his wife's memorial. I do appreciate it. He was an uncle. She was a cousin.

|Bryan Anderson||Jesse Jones|
I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Jesse Jones was a member of this unit. My grandfather's name was Gunder Anderson.
I'm not sure where I'm headed with my project, but in case I ever publish anything, may I have permission to use your photo of the grave of Jesse Jones in any publication?

Sorry I couldn't get a little better picture for you,. Grass needed cutting,and for the most part, we just have to take what is there.
I know that Carol is a daughter of Marion and Mildred. The only reason I'm not linking Carol to her parents is because we don't know where her parents are buried. I won't link to Burial Unknowns because they don't belong on Find A Grave (except for recent deaths) according to the FAQ.

Cathy: "I can't thank you enough for finding the NAME of this old cemetery in the woods! Also, thank you for cleaning these old stones and photographing them so the correct dates could be clearly identified! I will always be grateful to you for this!"
