Mildred Edna McClain (maiden name) was the kids mother I've double checked she is on the 1930 censes and I also check the death certificates for Bobby and Louise and she is listed for both.

They had children: William, Elizabeth Ann (Mrs. Elvin Swarthout), Elsie Jane, Sheridan F, Frances Barnes, and Mary (Mrs. Needham).
