I am descended from families of John Winthrop's Fleet of 1630 and have ancestors that have served in King Philips War, the Indian Wars, the American Revolution and the Civil War. Have been researching my family for over a decade and am just getting into the Irish side of the family. I have a special interest in the Civil War and have been researching African American veterans of that war.|

|June Spezzano||Civil war help??|
St Mary's is a small Irish cemetery in Portsmouth, NH. In the cemetery is a plaque to all the civil war vets in marked and unmarked graves. Problem is, there are no birth or death dates. Could you help??
Below is a link to John Harris. I added the plaque as a photo along with his headstone.
May I please have this memorial and all that are associated with this stone. This is my step fathers family. Thanks Jodie

|Jack McGill||James M Welch|
My gr gr grandmother is Margaret G. Welch Hineline 110775663, whose death certificate says her parents are James M. Welch and Margaret Fitzgerald. So I think your memorials 131866330 and 113139913 have a high likelihood of being her parents. Are you related to this couple too? Did you have access to the cemetery written records? I enjoyed reading the bio of James. Do you remember your source on this? One thing, my James Welch would have been born closer to 1830, not 1841 as your memorial states. In the 1880 census, James is listed as widower, and is living with daughters Abby and Margaret, so Margaret Fitzgerald Welch would have died between 1870 and 1880.

I've uploaded photos. Cemetery records show buried with Marie & Harry Demperio. Lorenzos' dates are a match.

I deleted my memorial for John too.

Hi Family Researcher, it seems that I have inadvertently duplicated your memorial (102502175) with one of my own (113926369). Mine has a nice little bio, and if you would copy and add it to your memorial, I will delete mine. I got the info for my biography from A Book of Strattons by Harriet R. Stratton; the records of Waterton; the will of Thomas Smith and the Stratton website.
Thanks, Ken Smith 46985536

Thank you for the kind request. I am from Rhode Island and also have a deep New England connection - worked in the area cemeteries for 2 decades. Gladly transferred.
