Bio and Links
Bio Photo Charles Carroll, #46952409, is the steward over memorials placed by Mr. Walston.

YB Walston passed on to a better life Jan 1st, 2008. The following was a Birthday email sent by YB to his relatives and friends via email on Sun, 19 Aug 2001: I thought it a fitting BIO since it was in his own hand typed words. ARW

Well folks I finally did it. I hit the big 9-0 mark. I came to Texas on August 19, 1911 in the small City of Elkhart. The first thing happened was this man gave me a sharp slap across my bare bottom. Since I could not talk I could only scream at him. If I had been able to speak I would have yelled "Child Abuse, Child Abuse, 911, Call the Cops." I looked around the room to see if I knew anyone. All I saw were total strangers. One of them said "Look, Look, its a boy." How embarrassing. There I was stark naked. Not even a diaper. Some one asked "William, what are you going to name your son?" This William, whom I now knew was my father, replied. "If it is all right with his mother we will give him the same name as his Grandfather, Young Bird." Now this nice sweet lady, still groggy and hardly able to speak, said "o-- ok but we--we`ll call him Y, Y oh--oh B B. E." Some hard of hearing guy in the back of the room spoke up, "Did she say to call him Wobbly? Now that is a fine name. We will all call him Wobbly." So this is the nickname I have had all these years. In my journey on the highway of life, there has been a few rough spots, as well as a bump now and then. However, thanks to my family and freinds, it has been a great trip. Thanks to each of you for your love and friendship these many years.
Y.B.Walston.
