Genealogy is my work, and I have done it for almost 40 years. I trace mainly my own family, but since my family is so large, I find myself traveling further each year in search of relatives. I visit the cemeteries and gather documents, obits, mortuary records, photographs and other research materials;I make it a practice to photograph non-related tombstones for other researchers. I am related to almost everyone in Washington, St. Francois and Iron Counties, Missouri. Surnames: Belfield, Eaton, Sheppard, Jarvis, Duty, Richardson, Purcell, Hutchinson, Reynolds, Hays/Hayes, Persinger, Cooper, McKelheer, Kohlmann, Schwede and many more. I believe those who have gone before us deserve remembrance and gratitude for our lives.|

Thank you for the photograph of Manoah Pence's gravestone. It's really cool how you have the mausoleum in the background. Looks great. Thanks again,

Thank you so much for providing the information on Anna Rosina Arndt Koosman it was very helpful. I am a decendant of her daughter Caroline Kantner who married August Westphal. I saw you had a photo of Anna Rosina Arndt Koosman. Is it possible for you to send me a scan of it so I can make a copy? Or could you send me a copy - I am more than willing to pay you for your time and expenses? Gary Westphal

Both Sarah and Hiram cane to TX. They died and are buried in TX.
Hiram Featherston, whom many of our people will remember as the man who killed his father at East Bonne Terre, Missouri between fifteen and twenty years ago, was shot down and killed on the streets of Dallas, Texas on the 20th instant by R. T. Wright. After killing his father, he skipped out for Texas, was subsequently arrested and brought back for trial but through a slip of some cog in the wheel of justice, he was acquitted. Subsequently he had trouble with Peter Richardson, who had married his cousin, and another death at his hands was the respite. For some reason, which we cannot recall, we believe he was never brought to trial for this last killing. He then went back to Texas to live.
|Anna Otwell||Sheppard Family|
I also have these same Sheppard ancestors only I can't seem to tie some of the knots together. I have emailed you before and you said the Sheppards were on your tree in Rootsweb but I wasn't able to access it. My GG Grandmother was Theresa Ann Sheppard (Shepard, Shepherd ??). Her first marriage and my GG
grandfather was Elijah Franklin Hall who was a POW in War between the states (Point Lookout for confederate prisoners) and was released after war and died about a week after he came home. Left Theresa and 3 small children. I have been unable to find out anything conclusive about Theresa's parents and siblings. Wesley D. Sheppard md Catherine Payton Reynolds and they were parents to Cassius Clay Sheppard and the other siblings. William McKendry (Mack) Sheppard is connected to this Sheppard family and died in Indiana in the area as Wesley and Catherine. Can you help me figure out how these family members connect? I would love to pin all this down. I would appreciate any help you would share with me. I live in the same area where the Sheppards came from in NC. Thank you in advance. Anna Kaye Choate Otwell, Greensboro, NC.

I've been reading your memorials on this family. very interesting! You write in a way that brings their stories come alive. Reminds me of my grandmother. She had 3 husbands, widowed twice and left with 10 children to raise. Strong women!
