Please let me know if you find a mistake or something I can add to a memorial. While I have walked many a cemetery, I get most of my information from historic books/obit's/bio's and newspaper articles. The newspapers were not so concerned with correct spelling or dates, and some of the tombstones themselves are hard to read...so while I try the best I can to be accurate, I do make typo's and admit...Im not perfect.|
If you would like me to transfer a memorial to you for one of your friends/loved ones, let me know, I will be glad to. I am not interested in giving memorials for the purpose of numbers, if they are close to you I don't mind, if you just want someone else to do the work for you, I do.
The reason I love Find A Grave is:
When I was a little girl my grandfather was a grave digger. He used to pick me up and take me with him, getting to the cemetery at dusk, as back then you dug the graves by hand, equipment was a no-no. He taught me to respect a cemetery.
Its the last place and the last chance for the person who has passed on....to have someone remember them.
He taught me to think about that little dash between the birth and death date. That tiny little dash represents the persons entire life.
It doesn't tell you if they were a parent, if they had hardships, if they were rich or poor, but it shows that they lived on earth and were loved by someone.
My friends thought I was crazy to go with him to help dig graves at night, he would say, "no one in here can hurt you, it's the one's outside this place that can".
We need to preserve our cemetery's....the final records of our life.
I consider everyone's life important and even tho I don't know most of the folks I have entered God knows them, and their life means something to Him. I hope this helps their family and friends, and future generations, who can log on to FAG and find out a little genealogy.
FAG gives a voice to those who are not in the history books, or the sports records, they let us put our family, the true hero's of our past who make us what we are, or will become in the future, out there for the world to see and honor.
I thank God for saving me, blessing me with the hope of Heaven, and giving us Jesus and the Holy Spirit....where would any of us be without Him?
If you would take a minute to visit my uncle Nathan
and cousin who were both killed in Korea, it would mean the world to me:

This Memorial for Polly Brainard, #32410289, Appears to have the incorrect headstone. It says "wife of P.R. Warner". Polly was the wife of Albert Brainard.

|Roxanne Woodruff||Bert G Woodruff|
Thank you for having such a good history here on Bert G. Woodruff. We thought at first that he might be our missing Bert Woodruff, son of Wait & Ellen Colegrove Woodruff. We have the history of all of Wait & Ellen's other children for the most part, but very little of Bert. My sister thought that he might have gone to Ohio and thought he married a Claire, but nothing has been found on either of them. Ancestry had an Ohio Census for 1910, 1920, and 1940 for Bert G Woodruff & Stella. One showed his father as being born in NY which our Bert father was born, and they all showed his mother as being born in Ohio as she was. When I saw that some of the info showed them in Medina, Ohio I was certain it was our Bert, then I see with your work that his father was George Washington Woodruff and his mother was Charity Kents. They ring a bell and I believe they are cousins to ours and may have descended from Wait Woodruff's Uncle Amos Woodruff. Our Wait Woodruff, father of our Bert Woodruff, was born in NY, but grew up in Medina, Ohio. I will check my records more to find out more about your Bert G. Woodruff. Just know they are cousins. We have a young picture of our Bert Woodruff and there is family resemblanse to the Bert G. Woodruff. It was a fun trace, but wish we could have found ours, but I am sure the smile on Bert G. Woodruff's face was in just watching me go through all the pages on the internet tonight.
|Kevin Cantrell ||Emma Louise Robison Family Member|
Hello, my name is Kevin Cantrell. I came across the memorial that you made for Emma Louise Music (102531613)and Irvin Robison (14093310). Emma and my grandfather, Taylor Music were first cousins. She and Irvin used to come down to visit from Ohio, back in the 1950's. I was wondering if it would be possible to maintain the memorial for her? If so, I really appreciate it.
