I just found your photo of Elizabethʻs grave stone... thanks for posting it. She is a distant relative... may I use the photo on my private family tree? I always give credit to the photographers... thanks so much...
|Stone✞Searcher||Memorial # 135458046 - Dr Paul Shannon|
I noticed that the contributor is using a photograph that was uploaded to the Saint Columbia Catholic Cemetery Page by you, on her memorial.
This prevents Dr. Shannon's memorial from coming up in the search for memorials without headstone photos at this cemetery. Which may lead to this memorial never having one added, not to mention it is taking up valuable space on the memorial that someone may like to add photos to one day. I just wanted you to be aware that your photo is being used.
It took several messages back & forth before she would remove her copy of my photo when my original was a better quality than her copied version that was shrunken in size. So you may not want to address it with her, unless you have a lot of patience.
Thank you for your time.
Hi, James. I've just learned, today, that Elizabeth (Anna) Atkison is my great-grandmother. Her son, Chiron Chester Atkison was my grandfather. He lived in Greenville, Mississipp. His son, Dewey Lee Atkison was my dad. He lived in Calhoun, Louisiana, where I live, also. I'm just excited to learn my family members' names. I'm interested in knowing if we are related and how so, if so. Also, do you know of any other Atkisons? My first cousin, Danny Atkison is the son of my uncle, Dad's brother, James A. Atkison, but I don't know where he is...maybe northern Florida. That's the last male I know of from this branch of Atkisons to carry on the name. There are some Atkisons in Maben, Mississippi.
I think that cousin is named Bob and am not sure of our cousinship. Thank you for taking care of Grandmother Elizabeth's (Anna's) grave and posting it on this site.
After over a year of looking I finally found the David Merritt you have been looking for. I was beginning to think her was not in Locust Grove but as I was out hunting today I finally stumbled upon him.
I'm only going to post his veterans marker for now. Its been raining here today and the family stone is wet and not taking a very good pic. So I will retake that tomorrow as I think its going to be a nice day.

|Donna Schulz||Rev. Obadiah Holmes|
My name is Donna Schulz. I would like your permission to use the photo you submitted of Rev. Obadiah Holmes headstone in my ancestry.com tree. This awesome man was my 9x grandfather and it would mean a lot to be able to use this photo on my tree.
Are you related to him? Have you heard the story of his public beating? What a devote man of God!
Thank you for your consideration.
|Diane ღ||Dear James,|
At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o'clock. Then, at that time Jesus called out with a loud voice, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?"
Today is Good Friday, one of the saddest yet the most joyful days of the year. For many years on Good Friday the weather has changed to dark sky's and the winds rolled in. It lasts about an hour. I have always thought that God was reminding me of that moment when Jesus left this earth. The suffering was over, the debt was paid for us. The Lamb of God had fulfilled his destiny and salvation was ours to claim through repentance of our sins.
Just now, in Florida, it rained and the sky was ominous and threatening. Lightning danced across the sky with loud claps of thunder. It rolled in from the west and as it came upon the house it was beautiful, exciting, and if orchestrated by Steven Spielberg could not have been more beautifully displayed.
The rain came after and then the glorious rainbow with the sun gleaming colors of purple, green, yellow and blue. God's rainbow with the meaning of "he loves us, he keeps his word and he will be there in the evening of our lives."
As I watched the weather roll by and the sun's return. I could feel it's warmth, I could feel God's promises to us as humanity. In my own words, once a year we have a holy TEXT sent to us. It says "I lived, I died and I did it because I love you" You have my number, don't forget to call.
On this Good Friday I am sending you my faith, my hope and wishing you peace and love in your lives forever. This has been my message to you for 8 years. We can rejoice in a new beginning because that is what he bestows on us each and every Good Friday.
Each and every Easter Morning we start again. With the Faith that he is near, The peace he sends in knowing our future is in his good keeping, the hope that our loved ones can share in this amazing gift, and the love that can transpire between families no matter how much strife and differences we have, we are all one. It is all so easy when we come together to make it happen.
Then my soul shall rejoice in the LORD;
and delight in his salvation.

|Rain Brings Rainbows||Thank You...|
I am pleased to see on the Holmes family members you have been so thoughtful as to leave the inscription at the bottom of the picture...allowing an almost possible to read and/or see portions of letters. Many do not attempt to do so...I appreciate your contribution!
Thanks for the response and permission. I am only using them for my own purposes and as I said, I will credit you on my Ancestry.com site. I appreciate the offer of the emailed photos, let me see if there are any that I would like sent to me and I'll let you know.
