Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have a special interest in colonial-era NJ and early Ohio (1790-1830) burials and genealogy, and African-American history in southwestern Ohio. Concerned about disappearance of cemeteries without documentation, especially as a result of suburban construction. Amazed by the awesome Find-A-Grave volunteers.

If you have a use for one of my photos, please help yourself and you do not need to ask (but thanks to those of you kind enough to do so). I am just trying to make my small contribution to this very big volunteer-based project. I appreciate you all!

No, I no longer have the picture. If it helps, you can copy it from the memorial.

Thanks re Figgins-Feagans
Hi, Scotty. Way back on March 19, you were kind enough to send me a message about the memorial for Andrew J. Figgins (#159421177) in Highland Co. Inexplicably, your message got snared by my spam filter, and I didn't find it until last night when I was looking through the folder of "deleted messages" and was able to rescue it. Happily, with what you told me, not only did I eliminate the marriage record (wrong man, as I had suspected, but wasn't certain) from 159421177, but I was able to find Andrew H. Feagans in Pickaway County, link that Andrew to his wife (Eleanor/Ella), and put the marriage record on their F.A.G. memorials. On 159421177, I also was able to add the 1900 census listing you alerted me to, and I added a link to the other/wrong Andrew with a caution, and also a shout-out of thanks to you for your important help with all of this. Much appreciated! Just goes to prove how useful teamwork can be. -- Jay

RE: Thank you for photo!
It was my pleasure!
It was a beautiful little cemetery on a small tree lined hill on the property of the Cenacle.

RE: memorial # 41083575
Thank YOU for the cooperation. I try to do the same, but there are a lot of hard heads out there. You are correct about the death date and it has been corrected. I was in error not checking the photo more closely after another member entered it.
Thanks again for your help.

Rosetta Zimmerman
Hi,
I would like to nominate Rosetta for the Dayton Walk of Fame. Would you mind being placed on the application as next of kin who might be willing to come and accept the award if she wins? My email is cdalton@woh.rr.com. Thanks - Curt Dalton

RE: Martha Maria (Zimmerman) Davis
That last message helped a lot. Check out the sites on Christopher Columbus Davis and Franklin (I'll bet Benjamin Franklin Davis) Davis and see what you think. Thanks for all you are doing. Baxter

thanks for the hint re: W Holmes but I believe that the 31 yrs refers to his mother Hulda...I will however return to check the stone as soon as weather permits as i live only several blocks from Good Luck.

RE: Martha Maria (Zimmerman) Davis
Scotty, I appreciate the information, but I am working on about 1,000 soldiers families at the same time and truthfully without a little more information, I can't figure out where this information ties in.
Martha Maria (Zimmerman) Davis
You may be interested to know where Martha was in 1860. She was living in Madison Township, Highland County, Ohio with her son Elijah, his wife Margaret and their baby boy Edgar. Also her daughter Mary, about 14 years old. Two years later, Elijah's wife and 2 baby boys died of diphtheria. One source says that Mary also died in 1862, presumably in same epidemic. Then Elijah went and volunteered for the Army. I would assume it was at that point that Martha headed west. She was in Ulysses, NE by 1870. My record says that Branson Davis died in 1849.

Can you help me out a little more? Thanks, Baxter
