Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a direct Brainerd descendant. IMHO it is spelled ERD (not ARD) as our originating ancestor Daniel Brainerd has it spelled on his grave marker.

I suspect someone back in the mid-1800s in James's line decreed the spelling should be ARD. They were wrong.

If you would like me to transfer this memorial to you please let me know. I would be happy to transfer.I am not a relative and do not know this family and I see you are related. I found this when going for photo requests in Reichard Cemetery. :)

I am having a really bad time following it, can't find any information for Olive. Are you saying that she may be a step-grand-niece... yikes! Olive is old enough to have Ida and Frank. But I'm going to let you finish this because you're already deep into it. Good luck, Jacki

You sent me an email message concerning Mem#121482732 that did not include reply address. Please either contact me again on the matter and I will be happy to copy you the Ala Death cert referenced in the bio. My only goal is to have the correct information.
Thanks

RE: Edits in Gouverneur
Thanks for fixing the pictures. I hope you will add the info in them to the biography section. You can do that by sending the "other" type edit at the bottom of the edit screen. Its great info.

I'm a long time member of find-a-grave and my focus is on the primary site mission which is to location, photograph and document cemeteries worldwide so that info from the cemeteries is available in this database for genealogists and others to use. Unlike almost all other sites, its not intended as a genealogy site or family tree site itself, but more as a resource. I spend at least a couple days a week getting hotel rooms and taking up to 1000 photographs in a day of old cemeteries. I've broken 3 bones, got more bites than could count and gone through 4 cameras, but its important to capture the data before the cemeteries deteriorate any further. I also helps me unwind from my real job (aerospace engineer).

Again, thanks for all you do. It is appreciated. And hopefully the Edit bug will be fixed soon. They really hadn't intended to "roll out" the addition of Links in the new edit format yet. It sort of went out early by accident and they didn't have the bugs worked out. However, once it was out, they couldn't just pull it back.

Edits in Gouverneur
I am processing your edits on the Fosgates in Gouverneur Riverside. I notice you have added pictures of information from archive.org. Could you please delete them? I would be happy to add the info in the bio field, but find-a-grave rules of use prohibit posting of scans from books or newspapers in the picture area (including those taken from another site). The archive.org rules of use also allow for personal use, but not for commercial use (find-a-grave is a for-profit site) and thus republishing their scans on find-a-grave also violates their rules. If you just send me an email with the memorials you want to manage I would be happy to transfer them. Leaving transfer requests in the caption of scans on a memorial is really not the best or most effective way to get transfers. If I hadn't clicked on the scans you added I would never have even known your requests.

Also, you may not be aware of a bug in the Edit screen. If you are editing birth/death dates and locations you must do them all in one edit. You are sometimes leaving one blank (which in itself is fine), but then you add a request for the missing field. The current flaw will cause that last edit to wipe out the earlier changes. The same is true for things like relationships. They must all be done in one edit.

For now I can work around it doing the changes and then manually adding back the updates you wanted that the later updates cancelled out....but I wanted to let you know for the future. There has been quite a bit of discussion about this in the Forum area for the last few weeks so its a fairly well known issue.
