I take what I do on Find A Grave very seriously, I don't guess or make up things when I send a SAC, I have researched before I submit. Please if you're going to suggest that I'm guessing, at least include your email address or allow messages to be left on your contributor page.

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

The Final Gift

Scatter me not to restless winds
Nor scatter my ashes to the sea
Remember now those years gone by
When loving gifts I gave to thee
Remember now the happy times
The family ties we shared
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared
Deny me not one final gift
For all who come to see
A single lasting proof that says
I loved....and you loved me

La Porte Cemetery
I spend a lot of time at our cabin in La Porte. Our on is buried here. I'd be interested in taking pictures and being a contributor. How do I find out how to do it?

John Frederick Heiden Find A Grave Memorial# 115479530

What is the actual death date for John Frederick, is it Jan 30, 1930?

The death certificate you uploaded on this memorial names the deceased as Edward Joseph James who died 26 Apr 1930.

Is this related to John Frederick Heiden somehow? Was John Frederick's name changed at some point? Just wondering.

Please advise, thank you.

Thank you for posting the article! I love finding information anywhere I can get it. It's quite tragic but I'm glad to know the story. Thanks so much!

RE: Horace Villemur Burial
Hi, Bernice:
Nice to know Horace is now 'home'. That was a sad family situation as his wife died shortly after giving birth to their only child and he then died 10 years later leaving an orphan. Fortunately he had married Ann Leonard Buckhart not long before his death which provided a home and care for the little girl. I'm having trouble finding out what is involved in a transfer and what I would be expected to do. I don't need to have 'possession' of family sites and am happy to know they are in good and capable hands, but anything you can tell to enlighten me on this would be helpful. Donna

RE: Horace Villemur Burial
Thank you for your reply. I'm 16 days new and really don't know what to tell you. I'm not in a position to manage any "sites" at this time. Do you know what the usual procedure is in a case like this? Donna

Horace Villemur Burial
Thanks for your work and the records which helped fill some spots in our family tree. Am wondering what your source is for his burial in Sharkey Cemetery. On the death certificate the cemetery is stated to be Watsonville Catholic Cemetery in Watsonville CA. I like to have all the details correct with their sources as most of us family historians do. Thanks for any help or response you may be able to make.
