Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing my families genealogy for over 20 years and came upon this site a few years back. It has been a great help in my searches for connecting to my past history. I really enjoy helping others in finding their past history and I hope the pictures and memorials I add help others in their searches.

If possible "Please" help out your photo volunteers by obtaining the plot information from the cemetery and adding it to your request. Also if you remark that you are requesting both spouses, please submit a seperate request for each spouse. Remember you are asking the volunteers to help you on their own time. Making it easier on them means they spend less time trying to gather/research the data in trying to find the grave locations, which in turn means they can get to the cemetery to full fill your requests that much quicker.

As many of us are related to the same surnames, please only request direct line ancestors for transfers as are in the Find A Grave Guidelines. This means: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be YOUR siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I will gladly add any information provided via the suggestion tool. Sorry folks, but family always comes first.
If I have accidentally added a duplicate record please let me know and I will promptly remove it.
Oh and 1 more small thing.

George S Seigler 1915-1968
Hello,

You have the headstone for George S Seigler 1915-1968, I was wondering if the photo clearly shows 1968 or 1966, I am can't quite make it out, it does look like 1968 from here, BUT I have the death record and cemetery record for George Scott Seigler born 5 Aug 1915 and died 23 Mar 1966, buried 26 Mar 1966. Burial at Olivewood cemetery in Riverside Lawn W, lot 346, space 1. Unless there are two of them I think the date might be 1966? I can send the death record if you like.
Thanks,
Betty

RE: Lawson Van Akin
We believe that the stone is the correct one, although the birth/death dates cannot be read. The other Lawson stone there was from 1828, which would have been his son. I looked a bit on ancestry, and thought he had a son named Lawson. If you are researching his ancestry, and feel that this is in error, please let me know. There are multiple FindAGrave memorials for several Vanakin family members, including one which claims the 1828 Vanakin is father to the others, which means he would have been 4 when Adison was born. Not likely. Also, there is a book by the Westland Genealogy Society which contains insciptions of the headstones, although whether they were able to read this one's dates, I don't know. It's available in several cities. I have not read it. This stone picture is also in Adison's memorial. Maybe it read "Adison, son of L A Vanakin"? So, to the best of my ability this is the right stone, but I can't guarantee it. Good luck!

Use of photos
Everett Henry Sweet [F.A.G. Memorial #83901691] is my 1st cousin 3x removed. Since I live in Virginia, I am not likely to make a trip to San Pedro, CA, where he is buried, any time soon. I am requesting your permission to use your photos of his gravestone in my family tree and potentially on my blog [http://filiopietismprism.blogspot.com]. I always give proper credit to photos that are not mine. My tree on Ancestry is private, but my blog is public and you can see how I handle photos that are not mine if need be. I look forward to your reply. Thank you.
