Susan Rogers
Samuel Clark, Sr. lineage
Does anyone know who the parents were of Samuel Clark, Sr.? He was born in New Jersey in 1784 but grew up in Virginia where he married Elizabeth Shinn (now West Virginia). They emigrated to Illinois in 1829 -- this much is documented. And now we have these wonderful photos and records of the Clark graves in Stewart Cemetery, thank you! Susan Rogers, descended through Frances Viola Clark (I have a photo of four of the sisters together = Frances Viola, Henrietta, Minnie, and Sabra which I am happy to share...)

RE: Alexander Clark, Sr. 1736-1794
Hi Kim. I haven't confirmed that but it looks like a likely connection. Do you have anything connecting him to William Clark that married Mary Jane Ferguson?

RE: Jacob Weddingtons'
Are you on Ancestry? I didn;t think we would ever get this tree fixed right. So many Weddington 's named their children after fathers, brothers, uncles and grandfathers and cousins. We go to Church with a lady that is related to David and she has a Bible and a Weddington Book, finally figured it out.

Hi Kim, very glad to know I've found another cousin. Thanks for letting me know. I'm related to Elizabeth Clark thru her son James Junior and then his son Robert Clark b. 1745. Robert's daughter, Nancy Agnes Clark married John Wesley Berry, etc..
Have you done any DNA testing? I just recently got tested using the ancestry.comDNA test. Please contact me using my personal e-mail address Thanks, Mary
